Oh the poor pup! He was such a champ during his groom! I'm glad he should be feeling much better after his spa day.

I don't understand because one of things I enjoyed with my Yorkie was grooming and bathing him. I left the summer trim, eyes and nails to the groomer. A clean, groomed doggy is a happy one and we are supposed to love them and care for them, right? ( of course, right)❤

Hi, I just bought a Wahl trimmer and it works great. It came with a #10 blade... which seems to be a nice short cut for summer. I know nothing about blades. What number would I buy for a longer cut/coat in the winter?

I consider this animal neglect/abuse. People that let their dogs that require grooming get in this condition should not be a pet owner. Even if you can't afford a groomer you can at least do simple trimming and brushing at home to avoid such serious matting. No excuse for this.

Which blade sizes did you use? I thought you said 7F, which is not what most people call shaving.

7f is a shave. If terribly matted then a 10 may have to be used or a 30 or 40. 30 or 40 are for extreme cases. I wouldn't go closer then a 7f as the shorter blades can cause trauma to the skin and follicles. The dog will usually scratch itself causes harm.
