In your vid you mentioned plugging in your fridge in via the mains, if my belief is correct the fridge will natively run on 12v and hooking it up via the mains will just add a couple more conversation stages to the voltage, so just waste energy, I'd leave it as it is connected to the 12v feed. Also, you may want to look into roller catches for your doors and draws, they're cheap and tend to really hang on tight! 😂

So, to stop my cupboard doors, and toilet door opening whilst on the move, I've used toddler proof magnetic catches. They work amazingly well, and you cannot see them. It's been 3 years, I've never lost the magic handle thingy (when not in use, it just attaches on the metal framework, behind the carpet, above the cupboards). The only sign of where they are, is a small screwhead, countersunk at the contact point. This also has the advantage of holding the handle in place, keeping the catch open, if required.

8:40 ... the remote rf switch is also a single channel dimmer, so is probably not passing 100% of the power (pwm dimming tecnique) causing the lamps to "whistle". Also, as the lamps are touch sensitive, when you turn the rf switch back on the lamps do not remember the last used state & default to "off". Maybe try the rf switch on the new black leds you have fitted? if you still get a whistle check the lamps are designed to be dimmed. Not all LED lamps are made equal. I'm a sparks so see a lot of this, been binge watching this build series & you have done really good ... albeit apart from not fitting any back boxes to those usb/240v mains sockets! And then using wood screws to mount the socket!!! (Cringe) Bit naughty I must say as the back of it was visible inside your "garage". Apart from that, good job man. Enjoying watching it as a fellow cornish person I always enjoy seeing my homeland on youtube.

Brilliant things are sent to frustrate us lol. Well done for being so fit. I could never fit in your freezer campartment lol. Hope it all goes well for the holiday. Just a note. Dulux is great but you need primer. Have you tryed BEDEC multi purpuse paint. First coat is a primer second coat and if you wish a third and it is water based. So easy to use. Some of my clients cannot spend £34 on primer plus paint. I know BEDEC is expensive but it helps. I am sure someone will destroy what I have just said but if it cuts primers it has got to be worth it.. Keep up the good work m8. Tel

In all vids you are doing everything so professionally. I am not sure I can be as good. You have your dad which is super for advice. I miss that imput. However you show us how it is done. Great work my friend. Keep it up. Get some of those beer zero alcohol companies to support your drink drive theme. Maybe they will sponsor all you do because you are a beer drinker. Lol you are most probably doing this anyway. It is just a thought for damaged goods. Love everything you do for Cornwall but I think everyone loves Cornwall. The magnet catches are a sound idea you just need to get a set with a stronger magnet. I use a similar system to hide away my home server and IT equipment in the living room, the panels just pull off and do require a good tug so they're very secure. Look for some more heavy duty ones 👍

Shame about those lights. I've fitted 240 volt LED ones from Lego or whatever its called. They are brilliant. Just run them through my inverter. They turn on and off with a nice matching remote control and they don't make a noise. Only thing is there not touch sensitive and its either al on or all off . You can wire them on different transformers and use other remote controls . 👍

Great to see you back battling your transit again! I hope you, Kate and Charlie have a good holiday in it (I don't recall you giving your van a name)? I'm sorry but after seeing the lights stay off when powered up and wait for you to touch them, I knew your remote wouldn't work :-( They are designed to default to off when power is applied - you need some lights that are designed for a remote control or ones with separate mechanical switches (so the remote and local switch both need to be on (switches in series) for the light to be on. For light levels - look at the lumens the light fitting gives out. If you want a rough idea what (say) 470 lumens looks like, you can get mains LED bulbs from DIY stores / supermarkets with a known brightness (I tend to use Toolstation as I can pick the bulb I want from a paper catalogue (so much easier than from a website), but then I am a little old!) ... then wire up a standard bulb holder / length of flex with a mains plug on (your dad may have an old mains work light that has a mounting clamp and a cage round the bulb - this would be simpler) ... Then you can see if you need that much light or can have much less (this only works for lights like puck lights where the beam is wide, spot lights are much harder to 'emulate' Hope this is useful info, all the best

definitely agree with @projectzip, by using 240v to run the fridge, your converting 12v to 240v and then back down to 12v to run the fridge, its really inefficient, you'll be using almost double the watts doing it this way as a lot of energy is lost through the inverter. keep up the videos mate, great to see the van coming on
