"everything connects to everything else" The biggest high I get as an ENTP is when I realise a new "rule" that applies to multiple phenomena and observations. I do a bit of teaching and sometimes when I'm halfway through explaining a concept I would realise it follows the same pattern/logic as a completely seemingly unrelated thing. Sometimes I get so excited in the middle of a class about a new pattern I see that my students are convinced I've lost my mind hahaha

we're charming because we literally have no option but to be. ever sit in a room with an ENTP that feels comfortable with you? you'll HATE us after a while. we enjoy confrontation, debate, talking fast, and it takes us decades to develop sympathy (not empathy. we have tons of that). suffice it to say, we're not exactly likable. so we learn to be charming. it's not our damned fault everything we enjoy or default to pisses off literally every other type.

ENTP is the type that amazes me the most. Their thinking is quite special and different than anyone else. I can easily recognise them if they're talking about ideas and show using their logic or how they point the illogical things. If you come to an ENTP with a problem they got you the solution and at least one future plan for another few years ahead when you cannot think of specific path for the nearest future. ENTPs are seen as lazy but also they can really work hard if they want to. From all of the types I've seen them being the most honest to themselves. And if they want something they get it. If they want to have an easy life, being lazy and spending time with others that way - they do what it takes to have that life. But trust me.. if they want to step out and get their ambitions to be met they would hard work and get through mistakes through the paths that no one has seen before in order to achieve what they want. They do that it the most creatives, unconventional ways sometimes. ~ENFP

I absolutely love ENTPs, because as an INTJ myself, I think they are the most compatible with us. What I like about them is the fact that they always have a new view of something that has already been done; they can play with the same rubik's cube and view it with millions of different views that you could never think of. But the worst problem with them, is that they get bored very quickly and they have the attention span of a butterfly. It is very hard for them to commit themselves to a long term project, which always prohibits them from achieving their goals. Love you ENTPs. You make the world interesting for us 👌
@micahgmiranda
@micahgmiranda 4 жыл бұрын
Rubic's cube actually aren't as complicated as they appear. You just arrange them piece by piece, layer by layer. Using muscle memory, like riding a bike, you memorize algorithms that place pieces where they belong. Once you have a lot of practice, it seems like the cubes solve themselves, you just guide them.

The biggest misconception about ENTPs is that they hide or don't know how to express emotions. In fact, ENTPs have a huge amount of emotions and perfectly understand the emotional state of the interlocutor and their own perfectly. The important thing is that ENTPs are guided by logic and not emotions in making decisions. Given a choice between an "emotionally kind" or "cruel but logical" solution to a problem, the ENTP will no doubt choose the latter option.
@1chienandalou

Thank you for this comment, I agree. However as we get older, entp is in an excellent position to not make a choice but in fact be able to UNIFY kind and logical if they want to grow and work on it!! As an ENTP I can relate to everything you said. I have a university degree in computer science, but I got bored fast after I finished the school, after I was a electronic design engineer, and now I'm mechanical design engineer (self taught). The reactions when I go to job interviews are kinda funny, but after they listen and give me tests, they get convinced. I enjoy creating clothes, I'm an artist, I paint and draw, I study violin and piano on my own, I study psychology, astrology, philosophy, spirituality and many others but on my own. I'm ambidextrous 😅 people get confused by that all the time. I feel like I live to learn and descover, I'm always fascinated how everything is conected at one point. I'm really bad at history and making money. Having so many hobbies, makes me spend a lot on new tools, materials, books, etc. I'm ok with my money but I always ask myself why I don't have a business. I have tones of ideas but I feel descouraged because I'm not an expert in anything.

Ok.... I’m definitely an ENTP. Hahahaha! I was told in grade 2 I’d never be a musician. Not only did I teach myself to be a musician, I am now a professional music teacher, certified audio engineer, and credentialed professional luthier. I’m certainly not the best example of any of those, but I am quite good at all of them. I’m also a decent archer, carpenter, and I have invented some small pieces of equipment I use in my work. Never invented a world changing technology, though. I modify most pieces of equipment to suit my needs and tastes. I don’t like giving or taking orders. I have zero respect for credentials if the bearer is an obvious idiot. That all said... I often frustratedly look around for things I didn’t notice holding in my hand, or glasses hanging from my shirt collar. Every mistake I make is one of oversight. My nursery school teacher called me, “the absent minded professor”. I “didn’t apply myself to the level of my intelligence” in school. The online tests still give me INTP... but like I said, I’d guess it’s because a written test puts me in a mode that simulates INTP, simply because of the written format. I’d bet money a verbal test would result in ENTP.

Thanks Nathan you are brilliant. ENTP is always in the verge of am i crazy or am i genius. We dont have the patience to execute. We are insecure of being so much of a sore thumb in society but our brains always know that we’re so so very highly accurate in our intuitions, because everything is indeed connected if people are willing to invent them in real life. Our faith in our NeTi will overcome this Fe insecurities, eventually.

3 years (or was 2? It doesn't matter) ago I took the MBTI and only knew that is a personality test that classify you in one of 16 personalities, and that was all, didn't know anything else. Result: ENTP. I was like: "ok... I guess?" I read the description of ENTP and also make my family read it. They died of laugh and reply: What? Are people spying on you since you were child or what? The freaking test nailed it in like 80-85% with no problems: I'm a textbook ENTP since child, and became more prominent during my teenage. -When I was a kid, spend a lot of time in public library reading a lot of whatever book I found: loved learning anything, loved the excitement of the new, and loved to create connections and patterns between books, topics, authors and infos. -I was the curious trouble maker who enjoys to watch grown ups talk and do things, and then try to convince them to explain to me how things work and why they think and speak in the way they did. -I committed some crimes or misbehaviors. When I was like 12 for example, stole a book from a shop, just to know why everybody say it's bad (I didn't get it until I did it mself and only then I understood it was bad). -During my childhood (and even today) I loved every game focused on: crafting, exploring and strategy. Board games, video games, etc: any activity that put me in an "againt others in strategy", "with others to create" or "alone to exploring" are my cup of tea. -Love debate, and philosophy, economy and politics teachers loved me in highschool because in every topic, I took the opposite side that the vast majority of my classmates took, just for fun and because I love mental sparring. -I was the "A student" and directives from my school saw me as an applied person (respectful, serious, etc.) but it was the image I wanted to project: behind the scenes I behaved quite badly hahaha. Even my friends told my teachers: "you don't know how he really is" and they answer: "no, he is a good boy, you are envious". -I chose the career I'm studying right now (industrial engineering) because it gives me a lot of opportunities to work in a lot of differents environments, gives me a lot of freedom and is focussed on solving problems. -Distracted, messy, imaginative, forgetful, random, little focused, chaotic, manipulative, analyst, over-thinker, etc. are adjectives that people often use to call me. "Charming bastard" are the way my friends, parents and brother usually use to describe me. My girlfriend (INTP) joke and say that I'm a "stereotypical know it all random douchebag with no morals". I call her a "shy nerdy robot"... what a beautiful relationship. Good video by the way. Like!!

You have no idea how validating this video is. I've struggled for years with my lack of desire to spend four+ years at a time in university focusing on the same topic the entire time. My true hankering is to hop from subject to subject, bringing them all together periodically. When I am free to do this (which includes enrolling in any short course that catches my eye if I have the time and finances to do so), I learn so much. If I were interested in a formal career such as in law or medicine, then of course I'd go to university, but there are plenty of fields where it's just not necessary, and shouldn't be used to measure someone's intelligence or dedication to the job. Thanks so much for adding a new word to my vocabulary too. Having a neutral word for what I am refutes the "social obligation" to follow someone else's life path and see my own as less valid. 🙏

I don’t really care too much for the I/E dimension as they can vary circumstantially, and through the lifespan, and/or so many people are not strongly biased in either direction. Once your development is complete both types have the same functions, and can develop the ability to use them relatively similarly. The order of development can vary between individuals within type too. Various factors (aptitude, family support or lack thereof, general intelligence/attention, no need vs need to get an advanced degree) could drive an ENTP to be more Fe dominant and neglect Ti and be more of a popular joker type, and another one to be Ne Ti dom or even Ti Ne dom as an INTP and then bring in the Fe later. I kinda described myself with the latter, but actually I had good jokes early on too. (Not just saying it without proof, it says so in my elementary school yearbook description ;)) But I was, and still am the highest order nerd possible. Career nerd, in fact. And not 24 old. Old old. Nobody has the corner on anything basically. I know quite a few ENFPs or suspected ENFPs who aren’t dissimilar to this style. And when you can get and INFJ out of their shell too, they can be a cousin of this. I thought it was funny that there’s tons of conversations were happening. But then I think it’s funnier that I ended up going on about my life to some kids on the Internet when I should be working instead 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

@@9SMTM6 INTPs pay way too much attention on the Ti systems they have codified in their Si. This makes them much more reluctant to entertain new ideas and perspectives. Some of them might even wrongly employ a logical framework just to shoot down the idea. They also don't tend to follow the trail of idea to the end, preferring instead to confine it's utility within the particular problem. Another thing I have noticed is that they approach a new problems by sifting it through their logical system rather than taking it on its own terms.

aha, As a KZbinr myself, I do notice the views of ENTP video kinda fluctuating. Loved this video, was a huge ego boost. However, there is always a catch. Due to the constant channel changing nature of our brain, it is very hard to stay focused. So if I wanted to structure into my life for getting more done, I can't. Also, trans parallel thinking sounds good and it is, however, it is useless since most ENTP don't have a focused field to apply these insights too. Imagine have the key to change the world but you didn't because you couldn't stick to the problem long enough. Furthermore, as one gets more specialized and trying to solve one particular problem for a long long time, it is a very very lonely road. Nice video, looking forward to more!

Love these ENTP videos. So many things I've wondered about growing up, wondering if something was wrong with me (short attention span, excitement for many things, etc.). Interesting that all of these things are defining the ENTP. Feeling less worried about this now :)

It hasn’t necessarily been stated but I also believe the amount of subjects ive delved into and, subsequently, im somewhat knowledgeable in (as an ENTP) is definitely responsible for all the friends i make. The more you know the more you are susceptible to meet someone that is interested in something you are/have been interested in. Great to have conversations (and to learn more things abt the subject too)!

I've actually taste the workings of an ENTP's mind to crack a test that has been for quite a while impossible to crack for my state in my specific line of studies. The Renaissance man part is kind of the main ingredient to it. The test is a huge amalgamation of interdisciplinary MCQ based questions and that's why it's so hard to maneuver oneself across the test. Now for an ENTP this is more than just a test. It's a maze. And there is a pattern, a system so to speak. People come into the exam hall without a plan and hope whatever it is they read is sufficient. But for the Entp, everything happens within the exam hall, and no prior preparation for the exam is entirely necessary. Entp you'll find that they'll be able to talk about almost any subject atleast on a big picture level, maybe bot in-depth but certainly on a surface level. That is the first key to interdisciplinary exams. Now their other functioning helps them see through patterns more fluidly and crack what is the most likely option based on elimination and association to prior knowledge, limited as they may be. Couple these with the attempt at understanding what the exam question creator's psychology is, I finally did it. It baffles people and they think I really know stuff, but in reality I don't know shit lmao. I only exploit a certain system and received a huge amount of stipend/scholarship off of it lol...

I'm an INFJ and I'm absolutely in love with ENTPs. I seem to almost universally like them (even if I hate them I love them, love/hate relationship) I dated one for 4 years. quite literally the most intelligent and capable person I'd ever met. very polymath, charming, hilarious, flirty, funny sense of humor. it's true what they say about the ENTP INFJ match. I also love INTJs though. INTJ and ENTP are my fav 2 types. both satisfy different cravings I have as an INFJ.

I agree that self-learning and learning by doing are very valuable and I enjoy these methods. Where I run into trouble is staying motivated long enough to gain true competency. I think that is why the externally provided structure of more traditional learning methods can be quite necessary for a lot of people.

going into this stuff hurts, when i was in school we did a careers/IQ test to be recommended what we should do in university, i got high in all categories, almost 100% in pattern recognition, and they told me i could just do whatever but all my friends got actual concrete ideas of what to do. Now that i’ve graduated i’ve already swapped majors, dropped out of university, become and artist, started farming - in one year. My parents and friends don’t look down on me because they don’t think i’m stupid, but they worry about me because i can’t stick to anything, and every time i say “no this is the thing, this is what i’m meant to do” and two months later i can’t be motivated by it at all anymore. I also can’t stand authority figures telling me what to do, i prefer to learn on my own or just swap interests as soon as whoever’s teaching me tries to lock me into one direction. Can ANYONE tell me how i can be useful like this because i want to be functional and appreciated even though i’m not consistent at all. please help me

As ENTP, I empathize with the first part of your story. I also excelled in all areas at school, which made it difficult to decide on what to study. Yet I also have the habit of never giving up, as it would be a sign of weakness. So, even though I started dreading my study halfway, I still graduated and got my M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering. To satisfy my new interests, I started a second study in Chemical Engineering, specialized in oil refining, yet when I graduated, I had already decided that oil refining was not my cup of tea, so I ended up working in the synthetic fiber industry. I’ve been in different roles, in different countries and industries, in engineering, sales & marketing. Even though I disliked certain roles, I persisted in those roles for a couple of years and tried making the most of it. I also learned to speak 5 languages along the way, yet I don’t consider this as particularly exceptional. People say I’m too hard on myself, yet I think this is what being an ENTP is about. My career has not been very successful until recently, as I always ended up accomplishing other things than my annual goals prescribed. I am in a happy place now in my current role as Innovation Director for a healthcare company, also because I’m engaging colleagues with different MBTI in my team to compensate my weaknesses. All the intellectual bagage I picked up along the way - seemingly unrelated for non-ENTP - are all working in my favor now. I see patterns from past experiences, and apply them to new fields. Our natural curiosity & broad interest in the world around us, helps the ENTP to loo at a problem with less bias and multiple perspectives. My advice to you would be to not give up too easily on things you have started & always try to finish it! The hardship of owning up to the choices you make in life will be quickly forgotten when you successfully close it off and move to the next adventure. And when you look in the rearview mirror, you start to appreciate those past experiences more, as you will always learn a few things from it that come in handy at future challenges. Hope this helps! 🤗

I think this video perfectly exemplifies the keyword 'Multifaceted' which the famous typology youtuber Michael Pierce used to describe ENTPs. The following are some of the keywords he used to describe certain types ENTJ- Subjugation INTJ - Visionary INTP - Abstracting ENTP- Multifaceted ENFJ- Persuasion INFJ- Idealism INFP- Dreamer ISTJ- Solidifying ESTJ- Responsibility ISTP - Mastery

I can identify as an ENTP. I studied 3 different Bachelors, started a Master, worked in 5 Tech Start Ups, will start my own Company. I love to play devils advocate and crushing every concept / idea, which I will get in my hands. On the other hand Since 4 years I didn't write my final thesis of my Bachelors. 😭..🤦🏽‍♀️😂 All of my friends say that I am a mysterium, because of discrepancy between obvious potential and missing drive for perfection / get Things Done. They describe it as unpredictable but this is certain. Next stop India. At the Moment I am learning kannada(Indian language). In Love&Hate relationship with myself. Frank(27)

For some reason my tests resonate around ENFP ENTP and INFP, I've been doing it for quite a time spam, 3 years, and I don't know every time I take the test I come back to your channel and watch some videos of said type and to be honest all of them are quite insightful and have useful advice, aswell as some degree of relatability, also my Thinking and Feeling, Extrovert and Introvert are very close to each other less than 10% of a difference, guess I'll never figure out which one I am but it's ok I can accept being ever changing and since I can use the advice for those types to make my life actively better I think I'm doing something right.(I used the 16 personality test don't know if there's another place that's more reliable).
