Loving Someone with BPD: Fear of abandonment and the push-pull

Yes, everyone needs to be treated humanely, but there is this growing compensatory therapeutic narrative (after decades of BPD stigmatization) about how lovable, sweet and innocuous people with BPD are. I think you are just doing this to make yourself feel better. Many people with BPD are extremely destructive in relationships and can do a lot of harm to others mental health either inadvertently of intentionally if co-morbid with narcissism or psychopathy which is common. If there is a dissociative element to the complex it can be even worse for the significant other. I was in love with my BPD partner, but she had no empathy, was selfish, manipulative, and the emotional roller coaster was too much to handle. The cycles were devastating. Please be real about the spectrum of symptoms and the effects that others have to endure from being in close proximity, and please stop with the "I have to be nice, to everybody attitude". Yes, be nice, but be realistic and truthful too.

Maybe violent, obsessive, intense conflit, blame instability etc. Clearly you need to listen to the whole clip before you criticize. Just suggestion.
