Just work on steady progress on the rehabilitation front and understand it does take time :) but if you can give youreself a period of a couple of weeks of really diligent work you'll at least see things starting to move in the right direction (not fixed but changing).

Hi there! I was diagnosed with spondylolisthesis grade 1 around 5 years ago, I had back pain which then I went to have a MRI and that's when they told me I had Spondy grade 1, the pain subsided for 4 years and I even forgot I had it, then I started to exercise again and am now going through my first flare up with sciatic pain for about 3 weeks now, been working on core strength exercises for around 3 days now and hasn't really improved. As far as I'm aware I do not have any pars defect and there is no fracture either, heaps of others give up and get surgery, I refuse to believe when other professionals say I cant cure my spondy or at least get it to a point where I'm pain free through hard work doing exercises and consistent core strength exercises. Very Informative video, even you are aware that there's a chance of reducing pain through hard work and consistency. Thanks!

Just had TLIF after doing everything imaginable. I had grade 2 with 8mm slip. 2 weeks since L4/L5 mis fusion. Symptoms are gone. Sore at suture but no pain or numbness. Still a little tingling in feet but that too is much improved. Should have done surgery 2 years ago. You can't PT your way out of Spondy

I've been diagnosed spondylolisthesis about 20 years ago, slippage 2, I have been struggling severely for the past 2 months, my legs hurt so bad when I lay down. Wakes me up at night, and I'm afraid to lay down to sleep, because I know the pain that is coming. And have to work full time and take care of my kids and my mom. Don't know how much longer I can keep it up

For a weakened lower back, repeated herniation of disc L4-5, do recommend or not hanging leg raises?
@BackInShapeProgram
@BackInShapeProgram Жыл бұрын
To be honest there may be some mileage in doing it if your technique is really good but I think you’re much better off doing other core exercises really. Ones that focus more on stability rather than concentric movements of the core only

One thing I found unexpectedly effective, is simply doing the pelvic tilt for a few minutes at a time rest, and then repeat.. I feel like my abdominal midsection is becoming tighter as a result!

@@chrisz6860 We would certainly recommend working that lower mid section, but do not normally recommend the pelvic tilt - far better to learn to consciously control that region of the core without the need for the tilt - especially with a spondylo :)

Thank you for the encouragement, I sure need it! My question is: with having Spondy L4/L5 and SI issues, is it possible to get severe heel pain that is not really improving with plantar fasciitis exercises and pain increases when massaging the heel? My back pain is increasing at night (tightening of muscles) and standing for a while (increase of heel pain as well). Podiatrist is not much help.

I wonder if there is a genetic component to this condition. My last X-rays showed grade 2 slipped toward grade 3 of 5th lumbar. I am 70 and condition has been there at least 50 plus years. While not diagnosed at first but I realize it was there when I had my first child and the anesthesiologist had difficulty with my epidural. It was at least 9 years before my diagnosis. Fast forward to my daughter’s late 20s and she had retro which required surgery when her pain became so great that she couldn’t apply the gas and brake while driving.

So sorry just want you to know you’re not alone. It does suck if it was like just maybe in our back I could deal but when it’s your back going down your legs and it’s the muscles for me. I just suggest I bought a muscle gun maybe 3040 bucks on Amazon it’s really great. I just go up and down my muscles. It feels so good And helps a little bit the next day and just stretching and then walking and I push myself but Nope drugs work so don’t even bother with that. We just have to keep moving so we don’t get stiff and my sciatica went away. I hope you don’t have that will go away eventually I had it for three years once. Wishes just keep moving as all we could do and get stronger somehow I just wish to God I could go someone like him that really knows what they’re doing.

It would be really nice if I could go to someone like you where I live IL, that can help me because when you get therapy, it’s just a bunch of exercises and when you’re in a lot of pain, it’s really really hard to do the exercises. I have a spondylolysis grade 2 L4 05 degenerated bulging disc. I HAD sciatica for three years, then gone!. I can’t barely walk cause of a cramping down my legs. I have to keep stretching. I force myself to walk, but I need help in person. If you have anybody, you know your mouth, prosperity and what please let me know within 20 milesor tell me what to do with your program and how much is it and can we get one I want help thank you I recommend a muscle machine. It looks like a muscle gun. It really helps on the muscles. I’m 66 I don’t want fusion surgery like they suggested.😅

I was diagnosed with grade 1 anterolisthesis 3 years back ( i was 25 yo then) and within a couple of months it went to grade 2… the neurosurgeons had suggested surgery to be the only option ( i have sciatica too ) I didnt opt for a surgery and have been walking for the last 3 years , i feel a lot better ( although my upper back developed a lot of issues) Are there any exercises i can do to improve my overall spinal health? Or as the docs said i would have troubles unless i get surgery to get it fixed?

@BackInShapeProgram
@BackInShapeProgram Жыл бұрын
Generally speaking the goal of Spondylolisthesis is to stabilise at the current level as it is instability at its core. You cannot push them back. You need to be doing the right sort of rehab work in order to rebuild resilience to the spine. - You might find this of interest though, it is a member of ours who had a G2 spondy and was re-examined a few years later to find it had improved to a G1 (Not something we would ever set as an expectation - but welcome nonetheless) backinshapeprogram.com/2023/06/chat-magazine-feature-janets-spondylolisthesis-recovery/
