Thank you for this video, I had undertreated depression as antidepressants did not work and reduced my quality of life. Then my new psychiatrist diagnosed ME/CFS and this explained the PEM. And then found out I had a dysautonomia. I cried when I was diagnosed as after all these years finally found a psychiatrist that recognized that most of my suffering and disability was physical. Your sharing your experience with LDN has helped me take the next step and get my prescription started and more of what to expect. I hope you are continuing to be well as possible with fibromyalgia.

I started at 1.5 MG saw great results initially then went to 3 MG and stopped seeing results. I went back down to 1.5 mg and started seeing results but only temporary so I went to 3 MG and started seeing results. Now I'm at 4.5 MG and I was feeling good until I had a very mild case of covid and ever since it's not been as effective. I feel a little more anxious like you mentioned. Perhaps I need to go back down to my sweet spot at 3 MG.

Thank you SOO much for this video... I've been prescribed opioids for arthritis and accident pain from a MC wreck... also, but then my doctor found out I also drank, not much, but that's the end of the opioids, including Tramadol.. and I realized that depression over pain was a major cause of drinking at all.. It's been tough trying to find my way out of the pain nightmare and you've given me hope! I was able to find a doctor near my home who is a Naturpath who prescribes LDN and I'm contacting her tomorrow! THANK YOU AGAIN.

I was on Tramadol some years ago and went cold turkey to come off it because of the addiction it was causing, and how my body needed more and more to get any relief.. once I went through the withdrawal, I couldn't believe how much pain the Tramadol was actually causing if I missed a dose. I'm so glad I got off it, and it may be a blessing for you that you're not taking it any more.. yay to the LDN and crossing my fingers it helps you A LOT!

I tried calling my local Compounding Pharmacy for a list of names of Doctors that had prescribed LDN before watching this video and received one name a Pain Management Doctor , I called and wasted 15 minutes giving all of my information to the girl and then she , not the Doctor started giving me the standard of care that I would receive and I said "wait hold up ", I was given this number for the purpose of speaking to a Doctor that would prescribe LDN for my hip pain ! Her entire demeanor and voice changed and said " No we do not prescribe any pills here !" So, after wasting another minute trying to simply give he some background on LDN , She insisted that I try another Pain Management Doctor ! She literally thought that I was pill shopping for Opiates and would not listen to a word that I said , so strike one for me !

Thank you so much Liddy for this insightful post. My doctor prescribed LDN for fibro, chronic pain, insomnia and anxiety. She started me on 3.5mg and my sleep is still suffering, even though I started taking it in the morning. It's been a month. I want to find that "Goldilocks" dose. Can you clarify your explanation about dosing please? It sounds like you went from 1.5 - 3mg and then from 3.5 - 4.5mg (increasing only by .5) and titrating up monthly. By what increments did you increase by from 1.5 - 3mg and did you titrate this part monthly, as well?

Where did you end up finding a doctor and pharmacy to get the LDN? I live in the Central Valley of California and lets just say it is very difficult to find a good doctor of any kind here and the pharmacies will actually overrule a doctor and refuse to fill a prescription whenever they want. I have RA with secondary fibromyalgia and I’ve tried everything but so far the only that works is Botox but the injections hurt so freaking bad cause of the fibromyalgia that I really don’t want to continue getting them every 12 weeks for the rest of my life. I can handle the migraines more then I can handle the Botox injections being given in 20-30 places all over my head neck and shoulders.

Sherry Duden it has to be specifically a compound pharmacy. You must do a bit of research and find one that is near you and makes ldn. After this you can ask their listing of doctors who prescribe it. I also believe there is a list of doctors you can search online who prescribe ldn as well, just search on google and look for the area you live in. After you get the list then i would call and see what each doctor prescribes ldn for and decide on one who treats fibromyalgia or any other chronic illness. I actually found my doctor in canada (my family lives there) and i did it all by researching online. If you have trouble searching let me know and i’ll help. Since being on LDN (plus an exorphins free diet!) my immune system truly has greatly improved! Like you say in your video, I havent been sick all year yet, and before I was sick every 2-4 weeks and in between felt awful all the time. My doctor has instructed me to eat an exorphins free diet, because exorphins in food work on your endorphin receptors.... Any thoughts on that?
@LiddyAlvarez5 жыл бұрын
M K i actually dont know about exorphins in food. I would have to search that up. What i do is try to avoid processed foods, foods with added sugars, i try to make everything i eat from scratch at home so i know exactly what is in it. I also avoid gluten and i’m mostly on a paleo diet. The only carbs i eat are from root vegetables. I just try to eat as clean as possible and always read labels. I also try to avoid inflammatory foods (you can search this up on the internet) and drink probiotics every day. All this paired with diet and LDN have truly made a positive impact in my life but i do think there has to be a combination of things to see real improvement
@M_K_M_K_M_K5 жыл бұрын
Liddy Alvarez Awesome! Well exorphins are in gluten, lactose, sugar, caseine, saponins (nightshades), lectins (legumes), many additives etc... My doc told me to avoid all of these. Also I think I am very intolerant so several foods, not sure which exactly but definately some that I am avoiding now! I drank a few beers last week (sometimes I have an off day and mess up) and that completely destroyed my gut again (also IBS). Its a puzzle sometimes :-) but just accepting that I need to stay on top of my health is key!
@M_K_M_K_M_K5 жыл бұрын
Liddy Alvarez By the way, exorphins work on your endorphins receptor. The reason my doc put me on LDN and the diet is because she stated I am dealing with endorphin resistance. She stated that its key to avoid those exorfins so my endorphin receptors arent constantly overloaded etc. English is not my first language so I hope that made sense :).

Hi Liddy, are you still convinced about LDN? What about those allogations that LDN would be Liver damaging? Do you know anything about that? What has it done to your mood? You said in the beginning, that through 300% more endorphines the lucky hormone, it could help with depression. But does it really do that..make you happy? Aww 10:50 you talk about your depression, so it actually made you feel better 😲? But was it a depression caused by the pain you had? Because then it would be logical that if the pain would go away also your depression would be gone. Or wasn´t the depression resulting out of the pain? It sound amost like because LDN made it possible for you to sleep, your depression was cured. But maybe not the endorphines directly made your mood more happy? it sounds more like the psychological relief resulted out of its effect as "byproduct" ? I´m asking because don´t have autoimmune illness and i´am able to sleep but still i am depressed, hopelesss and unmotivatedI , i don´t feel hopefull and lucky about life. Also i´m a emotional eater and wonder if it could stop me from doing this. So LDN giving me sleep wouldn´t cure my depression and in that case it would be unneccesary to try it. So do the endorphnes themselve change the mood, or is this though for you to answer because your depression insomnia related? Also i just think about how to justify to my doctor why i would need this. I just always think i have to justify myself.

Hello Liddy I've been dealing with fibro for 8 years now I've also tried everything and had some bad side effects. 2 months ago I went to a doctor that subscribe me LDN at a very lose dose 0.50 for one week and made me feel very anxious which I already deal with bad anxiety but I continue to take it anyways and I also felt very very drained to where just to breath was difficult but I continue taking it because I've heard nothing but great things about it. So after the first week she told me to up my dose to 1.0 so i did and boy did I feel even worse like I was gonna die from feeling so week and drained so I took it for a totally of 3 weeks and stopped because I didnt like the way i felt. It was so scary. So i went back to my doctor and she suggested i cut the 0.5 in half and start from their. But to be honest i havent because I'm so scared of feeling that way again. What do u think?
@LiddyAlvarez5 жыл бұрын
Diana Quinonez hi Diana! Listen. From what you are explaining I believe your ideal dose is below 0.5mg or maybe it is 0.5 but starting there is too much for you. I would recommend you talking to your doctor and asking a 0.1mg dose for a month at least before you go up any further. After a month (a week is way too little time, your body needs time to adjust) then you can go up to 0.2mg and see how you feel there. Then 0.3 etc etc and see how you feel. A lot of people say things like.. well but might as well not take it if im only gonna be taking 0.1mg which demonstrates a lack of understanding of what ldn does. Its not about how big the dose is but more so its what your body needs to feel at its best. Ldn is a medication you can play around with a lot, you can try taking it in the morning and see if thats better or skipping a day if you already have the 0.5mg tablets and dont want to spend extra money. There are many things you can try, its tailored to you and what your body needs so listen to your body and write down everything you are feeling each day. Ask your doctor to please slow down, since LDN is so particular from patient to patient, your doctor should understand. Please keep me updated, i’d love to know how you are doing and also you can write to me at any time. Im always available. Here is my email: myfibrostory7@gmail.com Here is my instagram: (you can private message me through here anytime you like) liddy_alvarez Sending you love Diana, Dont give up! Ldn can do wonders, its just about finding the right dose and time to have it that is tailored to your body.

Diana you state that you previously had extreme anxiety before LDN. Now you want to blame it on LDN. Kinda like being fat, taking LDN and then blaming LDN. You are a neurotic person. You can learn to self sooth. Your parents didn’t teach you. A therapist and self help programs can teach you. my physiatrist just prescribed 4.5mg but hew stated that a compounding pharmacy has to fill Rx. for the area in Oregon I was at it shows Walgreens. I will be trying to fill Rx this or next week.

tami brown it doesnt come in lower doses in pharmacy. You must go to compound pharmacy and get the dose you want tailored to you.

Have your dr prescribe low dose Naltrexone 4.5. Skips pharmacy in Florida is very knowledgable and leading compounding pharmacy in U.S. you can call them and they have tons of info for you I get mine from there , shipped to AZ.

Karen Carroll I am compounding my own under my doctor’s orders. One 50mg pill + 1 Oz distilled water in a one ounce amber dropper bottle. Then you shake it up, let it dissolve, keep it in fridge. Then use your measured/labeled dropper to take .8 ml. I can’t remember what that dose is right now but it’s my starting dose so I’m starting with that then increasing every two weeks based on symptoms/reactions. You have to go up slowly.

Thank you for sharing your story. How do you know when it was time to increase? Are you at 4mg still?
@LiddyAlvarez2 жыл бұрын
Hii! I started at 1.5mg and i felt good at that dosage so i increased after a couple weeks. I just kept increasing little by little to see which dosage i felt best at. 4.5 was my dosage since i felt the best at it and thats when i decided not to increase any more. Its really up to you to try, i just wanted to see if i could see better benefits so i increased little by little. Its not a regular drug and more does not mean better results, it really depends on the person. Ive seen people do better at even lower dosages like 0.2, 0.5mg and such. It all depends on you as a person and how your body responds❤️

Id look for a homeopathic doctor in your area. You can also call a compound pharmacy near you and ask if they do LDN and a list of doctors who prescribe it. Then go to the one that does more prescriptions since he/she will be more educated on the matter

Usually naltrexone is given to treat addictions in higher dosages. Ldn is low dose naltrexone and it has different benefits. See how you do at that dosage and then you can play around with a lower dose once the addiction is under control❤️ hoping you feel better

I really want the information in your videos but I wish you would be more organized and quick in getting to the point of the topic instead of saying its great/you like it etc for the first half of every video. Just constructive criticism because it's hard for me to follow. Maybe write out a guideline for staying on topic? I know how brain fog is for sure, just wanted to let you know. I'm glad it's helping you. I'm really looking into this.
@LiddyAlvarez5 жыл бұрын
Moser point taken! Thank you for helping me out. I will practice some more before making my videos. Today happened to be a bad day for me in terms of brain fog but will be making my videos later in the day to see if that helps some more and will outline it all as you said. Thank you❤️
@reamannmacbiatiagh20575 жыл бұрын
Moser,, do you have any understanding the difficulty that so many people suffering with Fibromyalgia have trying to organise thoughts! If you did perhaps you would not be so liberal with your constructive criticism's,, while it may make you feel better about yourself making such comments, it really dose not help anyone! In fact it just comes across as you being impaitent tempremental and picky.
@zenspens5 жыл бұрын
Reamann MacBiatiagh the comment was not to tear her down as I have incredible difficulty with brain fog. I have to write everything down or I forget. In fact the brain fog is what causes me to find a challenge with following along in the video. I was not being rude though that is your intention here. The information she has is valuable and she should still make videos. It’s a learning process and she will get better and better as everyone on KZbin does. I was simply stating my opinion and you don’t have to agree.
@zenspens5 жыл бұрын
Reamann MacBiatiagh and btw if I didn’t have fibro why would I be watching this or care? Because I suffer and wanted to learn what more I can do. You’re the one being temperamental and negative.
@reamannmacbiatiagh20575 жыл бұрын
@@zenspens If you have fibro and you have the capacity to be organised of your thought, fantastic count your blessings. Do however have a bit of respect for the difficulty's others have due to the condition,, if your comment did not demonstrate your lack of understanding it certantly demonstrated your lack of Patience "Patience: the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, difficulty, or annoyance without getting angry or upset."

What was your experience with sleep. I listened to several videos from the LDN Research Trust and they keep saying they actually give it to people to help with sleep. They also say it can cause insomnia. I have terrible sleep problems. I'm considering taking it for MCAS an AI disease. I was also told for years I had fibromyalgia but nothing doctors did helped.
