How to use Naltrexone for weight loss, how naltrexone helps curb appetite, and how to use it to burn fat.
Did you know that naltrexone, also referred to as low dose naltrexone, can help with weight loss?
It's actually an effective weight loss medication provided that it is used in the right way.
LDN or naltrexone or low dose naltrexone (all names for the same medicine) is typically used to treat alcohol dependence. But it was found that it can also be used to treat autoimmune conditions. Then later it was found that LDN also seems to have some weight loss properties.
LDN has very few side effects and it works through a different mechanism compared to other medications which makes it a great add-on for many people.
AS ALWAYS, make sure that you use LDN with OTHER weight loss therapies such as diet, exercise, and so on. Using it in this way is obviously the best.
We are going to discuss 6 ways that LDN (or low dose naltrexone) can help with weight loss:
#1. Naltrexone targets insulin resistance.
Insulin resistance is one of the primary drivers of weight gain and obesity in MANY people. Up to 50% of people in the US suffer from insulin resistance in some form.
LDN helps to drive down insulin levels which can help with weight loss.
#2. Naltrexone increases growth hormone.
Some studies show that naltrexone can also increase or normalize growth hormone levels. And because growth hormone helps maintain muscle mass and fat mass in balance, it will help manage weight.
#3. Naltrexone modulates your appetite.
Naltrexone also helps to MODULATE your appetite. Notice I said modulate and not suppress. It actually helps to reduce cravings for foods you shouldn't be eating and it helps you to eat the normal amount of calories you should be each day (instead of overeating).
#4. Naltrexone reduces inflammation.
Naltrexone ALSO helps to lower inflammation. Inflammation is a driver of fat cell dysfunction and weight gain by itself. So if you reduce inflammation you will help with weight loss indirectly.
This reduction in inflammation is also why LDN is often used to treat autoimmune conditions.
#5. Naltrexone improves your sleep.
Naltrexone has also been shown to regulate sleep cycles and to help improve sleeping patterns. Because a lack of sleep is associated with obesity, anything which improves your sleep may help with weight loss.
#6. Naltrexone improves and increases thyroid hormone.

Yes absolutely. It's God sent. I battled with food addiction all my life and since it's an opiod antagonist, I connected the dots that it would help with any kind of addiction. This med is however not well known in my country, doctors don't know about it, it's never prescribed so the onus on figuririg this out was on my shoulders. I tried 50mg at first because I thought I needed everything, boy was I wrong. I gained 7kg due to severe constipation. So I left it. Years later and many tears later, I found a video in how to make your own LDN with distilled water. The effect was immediate. The appetite correction happened at the get go. I knew from that moment on that my troubles was gone, forever and ever. I have thyroid issues so this video gives me hope. I am on the right track. I also had a otc painkiller addiction so now going through a bit of withdrawal but my body doesn't want painkillers at all. Just the thought of it is nauseating. I died and gone to heaven. I have my life back. Thank you doc. You are a gem between dumb rock doctors in today's society. Love your work.

I started at 25 mg a week ago and have now moved to 50 mg. But, it is for binge eating, not generic weight loss. I would describe my experience like this. Picture a bunch of mountain peaks. Those mountain peaks are analogous to those moments when the food is in my mouth and I'm getting that rush after rush from eating all of that delicious, fatty, carby, sugary food spoonful by spoonful. Now, imagine a giant saw coming through the mountains and cutting off all of those peaks and leveling them out more. That is what Naltrexone feels like to me. I don't get the cascading rushes of whatever neurochemicals are activated while eating regardless of what I eat. I can stop now at half of my plate. I don't feel compelled to eat every last bite regardless of whether I'm full or not. I don't feel driven, if you will. I feel like I can say no and stop when I need to. Also, for others who might read this, I took it one time during the day and was light headed and really tired. I switched back to taking it at night and I don't have any of those side effects the next day. YMMV

Great description you posted! I would shovel food into my mouth chasing that flavor, texture, high too. Once on LDN, my attitude toward food changed. For once in my life, eating just enough and not more than needed became my new normal. I’ve shed thirty-six pounds in four months. I hope I can stay on LDN long term. I have ten pounds to go before I am in a normal BMI range. For me, LDN is a game changer. Thanks for your comment.

I'm hoping to increase the dosage next week as I haven't seen any signs of profess. I'm hoping that it does help my blood sugar as the other meds did work for that. I'm interested to learn more! I just came across this video after starting low-dose naltrexone for chronic pain. One of the first effects I noticed of this medication is that I wasn’t getting a “hit“ after eating. I didn’t realize until I started taking this medication that I get some kind of emotional reward when I eat. And I would find that I would often over eat. In the last couple days I’ve simply put my fork down and pushed my plate away because I was done, and that is very unusual for me. I didn’t feel like I needed to eat everything on my plate, and I didn’t have cravings for sugar like I normally do. I’ve always been a normal and healthy weight, so I’m not worried about weight loss, but I’m coming to believe I might’ve had a little bit of a food addiction that I was completely unaware of. It’s not that I enjoy food any less, because I still really enjoy the food. It’s that I had some kind of dopamine hit or some other kind of reward that was happening in my brain after eating that no longer exists, while I am simultaneously feeling much more content and happy with eating smaller amounts of food. It’s very interesting, and I actually really like it. I feel a lot better, and I didn’t even feel like I felt bad before. … I guess sometimes you don’t know you’re feeling bad until you feel better, and sometimes you don’t realize that you might have a problem with food until the problem you didn’t know about disappears. It’s very strange. 😂

@@jesshatchette Certain herbs may be helpful in weight loss, but only under certain circumstances. Before using a supplement, it's important to check with your doctor to make sure that you don't have hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism, or an underactive thyroid gland (underactive thyroid is not uncommon), will slow down your metabolism, making it difficult to lose weight and maintain a healthy bodyweight. If you have hypothyroidism, you should consult with your doctor before taking any herbal extracts; doing so may actually exacerbate symptoms of hypothyroidism and cause additional health problems.

hi. I'm using LDN for Graves, Hashimotos, and weight gain since Feb 2022. I started with one drop and now am up to 5. I take it in liquid form at the lowest dose. I also take it in the morning. Listening to this video, I will try taking it at night, and not being so afraid of increasing the dose a little more. So far the Graves symptoms (the high heart racing) has been reduced in frequency by at least 50% at 5 drops. I feel a little tired by the mid afternoon, and I haven't lost any weight yet either. No side effects and promising benefits, I'd say. And Yes, I am still working on all the other factors too to optimize my health. Love your supplements and videos! Thank you so much.

I am about 12 hours past my first dose just noticed a reduction in my back pain. I picked up my heavy computer bag, which usually hurts, and nope. Nothing. No pain. I also noticed my sleep was deeper, which could be why I'm not hurting. Maybe it's a placebo effect, because that feels really quick, but even so I'm happy with it. I researched LDN to help manage Lichen Planopilaris. So far the results are good. It’s greatly reduced the inflamaton on my scalp and itchy sensation. I noticed it also helped to regulate inflammation in my body feeling “puffy”. I’m on 3mg and feel like this is a great safer alternative to the traditional treatment options they gave me (corticosteroids & hydroxychloriquine). Your video was very inspiring explaining other benefits of it.

Yes I am on LDN and it turned off all my AI positive markers... helped sleep which is huge. I am also getting biote pellets 1:1. Now my thyroid and hormone levels are good but I’m still so fatigued and live in chronic pain. Can’t gain weight which started before. I am at 3.5 and I’m going up to 4.5 this week. It has been a year but I stopped for a few months because I couldn’t get LDN for a while. I hope it helps more soon. But I have a lot of health issues, so I remain patient. It’s been 10+ years already. I have no idea what it’s like to be in my 30s. Or most of my 40s. Yet.

Naltrexone is used by alcoholics it's called the Sinclair Method. It suppresses the reward centre of the brain. I found that food was kind of boring. Previously I wouldn't be able to stop myself with one chip I would have to have the whole packet. It made me realise alcohol and certain foods act exactly the same on the brain. Sinclair method is you aren't supposed to take it and avoid alcohol you are suppose to take it and then have alcohol (can be done for sugary foods too). Do this enough times and you begin to associate that particular food with boredom. The catch is you can't eat that food without taking Naltrexone otherwise you will have a huge hit of dopamine and feel a crazy high. Instead when not taking it workout or do exercise so you get a dopamine hit from doing that. Get addicted to things that will help your health and make the addictive things boring.

@@crystalhappy7588 I'm not sure what .5 is. Are you asking in milliliters or milligrams? Also using your T3 Conversion Booster as my RT3 was at 42 when fist checked a year 8 months ago, now down to 19 with T3 Conversion Booster. Thanks!

One idea is compound your own with distilled water. Try pulsing on and off and and or modulating your dosages like .5mg, 2mg 4.5mg pulse off day 4 and results when to puls back on. I have seen some posters describing how you have to find what works best for you. Makes it easier and cheaper if your dr scribes 50mg and you compound with distilled water and measuring syringe.

My doctor will be putting me on naltrexone but says it will raise my blood pressure. She's combining it with Wellbutrin which is basically an antidepressant. I'm far from depressed. My doc said they work together to lose weight. Can I just do the naltrexone instead of combining both? I don't like the idea of taking unnecessary medication. BTW great video. I'm going to forward it to a few people who will find it helpful.
