He said the other day that when he has organized tournauments with low elo players they didn't show up and it was harder for him to schedule with them than with the pros. I think it would be so funny to watch but for the moment it seems imposible.

"Wow T90 you are the best!" And yep. As a child i thought murder holes was the best technology ever and rams were nightmarish engines of destruction because it couldn't stop them. (and yes I did think massed longbows were also unstoppable and onagers were terrible because they always killed my own units, I really sucked at siege)

I still have no ideia how to use onagers properly... I've taken to embedding them within formations of archers or skirms, but it means a good cavalry wave will mess them up completely

just thought i'd say i've been practicing against ai forever, and this series made me realize maybe i'm better than i thought. So finally perked up the will to play ranked and did pretty decent with a bulgarians all in man at arms rush. That strat because i noticed none of these low elo legends go for or prepare for early aggression

Practicing with AI is really good way to get better though there is still some limitations. Mass fleeing vills and military attacking forward buildings just to say few. But if you dont cheese your way to victory, I really think AI is good way to get better.

yesterday I played my 4th ever solo game and I got called a smurf cuz my micro was too good (lots of HD ai practise + youtube watching and some duos games). That feeling when they call u a smurf is just great

It's seems to be like that in all RTS games I played. If you can go for early aggression AND keep your economy somewhat working, you'll snowball. Works really well in games like CoH where to get resources, you can't really turtle in your base since you get resources from, more-or-less, map control. Still hate chokepoint maps and abysmal pathfinding on narrow paths with more than 1 damn vehicle.

@@laurivaisanen6918 I think ai are an underrated tool for new players. If you cheese it, sure, it's not helping. But I found it very helpful for working on build orders without any stakes. hell, i restarted loads of them when i screwed it up bad enough. Practice REALLY makes you better at this game

Ramming down houses reminds me of Starcraft, where if you play a low elo match vs Zerg, their pop space is in floaty units, which are pretty easy to kill, especially because most low level players send them all to a corner. there pop blocking someone is actually a valid strategy sometimes

See T90 I cut the straggler trees for this reason. My build order is 1 builds 2 houses, 1 builds a mill on the berries, 1 goes to straggler. Build 1 vil then Loom then 3 vill. Send 3 new vils to berries and 1 to the same straggler. Once cut build Lumber Camp then have one vil work on the remaining stragglers while utilizing LC for good wood eco.

Blue is playing like it's AOE 1. In AOE 1 it's more efficient to build a dock, then go to fishing ships. After a couple ships are built you then build the grainary near your berries. Then you build the supply camp. This lets you skip the starvation period at the start, so you can keep pumping out villagers.

100% why we think murder holes are OP in campaign is because in 80% of them the AI doesn't build siege, so you literally can just boom and dink about once you have a castle and murder holes.

Probably, but not consistently. I can't beat moderate yet (although I mostly stick to standard for hotkey practice), but the way red played is about how I'd expect to fare. If you can easily beat the standard AI, then you can definitely beat some of these players. They don't play like the AI does, and it looks like they're actually terrible by comparison.
