My happiness is being debt-free, not having to work a job that I loathe, having a simple and frugal life, going to the library, enjoying long walks, reading in bed with a cup of coffee in the morning, talking on the phone with friends and family, writing letters and cheerful cards, watching a hockey game on TV (go Wings), listening to a good podcast, taking a hot bath, spending time with my adult children, watching a movie on KZbin … These are the types of things that bring me happiness❤

Thank you Miss Sara! What a blessing to learn that important lesson so early in life. I'm an old grandma lady now, but l grew up poor. We all worked hard, my parents taught us well. But no matter what, we learned to enjoy the simplest things as long as we were surrounded by family & friends. Money is important but it isn't everything. Loneliness is way worse than being poor.

Success is having Wonderful children and grandchildren; having a strong Church family ; even if one is the last surviving member of one’s family. Grateful to be able to buy groceries , have a nice house, serve others. 😊🙏🏻☮️

Enough money to get by. It’s all I have and need. I used to work my butt off to pay the bills and keep up with the Jones’s. I was not happy, empty life. Now I have time to do the things I enjoy and no longer care about what others think!

Love this video! Great insight! Are the plants real in your background? If so, you should do a video with tips on growing houseplants.

I've always enjoyed simple things. I cook from scratch, often with my kids when they were younger, and our hands were often coated in flour. Best way to deal with that? Put handprints on someone's back. We all laugh and secretly want to be picked. Also had an epic flour fight one day when making pasta. Those memories make you laugh for years.

Retired May 2023 at age 51 after 30 years in my stressful mental health care career. Hubby retires in March 2026 at age 56 after 35 years as a civil servant. We’ve been married 30 years, together for 34. Chose to be a childfree couple. We have each other and our two huskies and a few kitties. ❤ Love our simple, drama free life. We strive for self-care, simple life in our century old brick bungalow on outskirts of town, enjoy and thrive with mindful practices, enjoy good food, and debt-free frugal living. We take care of each other and choose our peace over everything.

Money DOES buy happiness because it gives you choice - choice to escape your unhappy marriage, choice to leave a job you hate, choice not to work alongside nasty people, choice to leave your boring town, choice to travel and expand your horizons. Without it you’re stuck, you’ll hate your life and spiral down into decades of ‘just getting by’ or deep depression, then suddenly you’ll be old and broke(n) and realise what you could have had.
