Unfortunately these aren't LSD. These things would be absolute rockets on the racetrack if they did. They DO have the 6 speed 02M trans though which is a huge improvement over a normal GTI 5 speed. I think it's important to make this distinction.

@@MountainManKm A limited slip differential (LSD) is a device that helps distribute power from side to side in high slip situations. Let’s say you’re going around a corner and the inside wheel begins to spin, the LSD with engage the outside wheel in order to provide better traction. GTIs have “open” differentials which is why you will see video of YT where only one wheel is spinning during a burnout because the power will go to the point of least resistance. If the car was equipped with an LSD, the front axle would lock, this spinning both front tires. They are especially effective on track as they effectively can double your traction in certain situations. Hope that made sense...

@@lukewheeler4888 Yes it does make sense, could've just said traction control, that's the same thing right ;)? Now you could technically lock the front axle by welding a plate into it, creating both wheels to spin, but that's still wouldnt be the same as putting power to certain wheels, it would only creat both wheels to spin.

@@MountainManKm traction control is different since it’s done through the computer. And LSD is a truly mind blowing price of mechanical tech. And you are correct. A welded diff will give you the ability to spin both wheels.

I actually had one of these with a Peloquin LSD. Had it installed with a new gearset and shift fork after my 1-2 fork broke. But yeah, it didn't come with them. I ran mine with a 75 shot of nitrous and it ran 12.8 quarters on Mickey Thompson ET Streets.

That intake tubing is not stock. I know because mine failed and caused all kinds of weirdness, and it looked much different than that. Yes, it was on a 337 edition that I owned from new so I know it wasn't touched prior to me. Also, as mentioned in other comments there was no stock LSD. Main differences were the 180 HP 1.8 T from the Audii TT, which was not available int the standard GTI, 6 speed tansmission with bespoke shift knob (which sucked in cold or hot weather), Custom Recaro seats, lowered suspension, body kit, and interior details like red stitching in the steering wheel, aluminium pedals and custom colored seatbelts. It was a hell of a deal at $22,225 brand new as it was only about $2500 more than a base GTI. This one looks like it needs a bath though, and also probably is not stock turbo if it's kicking in that late in the RPM range as stock they had full torque from 1900 RPM, and absolutley nothing below that. Not even joking, it was like maybe 10 HP if you tried to operate off boost, LOL!

if you have a 20th gli its almost the same except a jetta not golf. same parts engine trans bakes same style interior but the gli and 20th gti have complete black interior and the bbs rc wheels for 337 and gli

My brother had one of these the dealership thought it was a normal gti 1.8t and gave it to him for 12,000. That son of a gun had a LOT more torque than a normal 1.8t golf. It will throw your head back in the seat.
