I'm a software engineer & bought this keyboard, and let me say: wow. If you're a programmer, this keyboard is for you. The keystroke on this feels like what I wish every low-profile keyboard felt like. The multi-device connectivity works flawlessly - if you're planning on running multiple computers (I have a work mac, personal laptop, and gaming PC), this thing gets it done without any issues (on Windows re-pairing takes around 3-5 seconds, but that's my only gripe. Tried on my Ubuntu machine and it worked within about 1 second.). As mentioned, the stroke is solid & the cap play is minimal. The actuation is a little unclear since you have no audible click, but it's VERY hard to press these keys half-down, so you'll usually know when the key is pressed. Function keys (vol up, down, play/pause/etc) work well on both Mac and Windows. A huge selling point for me is that the keys are double-printed for both Mac and Windows keys, so I can go back and forth with ease. I haven't worked much with the Logitech Options software provided for this keyboard, but using it with my mouse (Logitech 720 triathlon - $50 and looks great with the keyboard with same device-switching) and it works great on Windows. I haven't had much luck with reprogramming keys on Mac, but that could be my fault. If you're a key-smasher like me who enjoys a low profile, luxury-laptop-esque typing experience, this is a great choice

Absolutely dude. It’s been a year w this keyboard and frankly, most days I forget it exists - it just works. Battery is solid, functionality is good, never have any issues with missed strokes, backlighting is good. I’ll warn you that you’re not getting any kind of ultra luxury insane switches or anything. This keyboard is closer to like, the best membrane keyboard ever created. My only gripe is that there are small rubber feet on the bottom of the keyboard and one fell off, and created a kinda weird tilt to the whole thing. I ended up using some wiring harness tape I had (basically sticky canvas) to tape it back on & I haven’t thought about the issue since. Well worth it IMO & I hope you end up agreeing.

I've been using mine now for about 6 months and love it... I normally use a K95 Plat with Cherry Blue switches so I highly doubted I would like this but needed something for my studio. After purchasing I started a new project at work were I was typing most of the day and this has turned out to be phenomenal. It's completely different from what I'm use to but just love it for some reason.

While I was doing my review of it, they actually offered a free palm rest, albeit in a combo pack with the new MX Master 3, but they're not doing that right now (probably because it's out of stock on their website). $20 for it is definitely too much for it.

Yea I bought the MX Master 3 and MX Keyboard in november. Then they came out with that bundle in december. I immediately returned my keyboard and mouse and bought 2 bundles. My brother likes the palm rest , I prefer a thicker wrist rest but it's still nice to get them added on for free.

Absolutely an awesome keyboard! Just got it yesterday, and oh boy is it amazing to write on. It really is a great typing experience. Somehow it just makes sense, in some odd fashion, and even seemingly made me write even faster than before. Maybe it simply makes it that much more enjoyable to write, compared to my other keyboards. Then again, I must admit it's also the most expensive keyboard I've bought so far. But when I was out in stores checking and trying out other more expensive keyboards, they never felt this good to write on. And it being silent, while typing yet not so silent that you won't notice whether or not you even typed the letters you wanted to. So in some cases it's even reduced my typing mistakes... This review truly sold me on it, and I have no complaints at all, so far. Hopefully it lasts long enough, in both reliability and versatility. Time will only tell.

However, if you're looking to optimize your desk setup, I highly recommend checking out the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule. I mean, just a point, Red switches *aren't* tactile switches. They're linear. They're meant to give a smoother, quieter feel without a noticeable point of actuation. I would be interested in a comparison to one of the standard tactile switches (like Brown) or to a full-blown "clicky" one (Like Blue)

It looks great and I would love a TKL one. But they have the same flaw as many similar keyboards by not separating the function key groups. That's a real negative for software developers.

Hey there! As a fellow software developer, I totally understand your frustration with keyboards that don't separate function key groups. It can be a real pain for productivity. To keep your setup spotless, I recommend checking out the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule. It offers powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, making keyboard cleaning a breeze. It's a great tool for maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Plus, its price and quality are quite reasonable compared to other options out there. Hope this helps!

Does the MX Keys have N-key Rollover? Specifically, W+Left Shift+Space? This key combination is deliberately disabled in all but the oldest K740 keyboards and some other non-gaming Logitech keyboards (my theory is that this is to encourage customers to purchase more expensive "gaming" keyboards). I'd love to buy this keyboard, but only if I can also game with it.

I have one of these and I did notice that i was typing way fast than my cherry MX REDs and BLUES even Blacks the travel distance is the main reason why , but in terms of feel i would say a 65g brown is the feeling the tactile bump is felt when you bottom out its honestly not bad at all. The pairing is seamless i have my iPhone and both my Surface and mac book paired 1 press of a button and I'm on the other device, i have typed on this keyboard for hours and felt no fatigue and that's with out a the "apple pulling" wrist rest, its as thin as an iphone 11 pro , samsung galaxy s8 and above for comparison of course that the thinnest point, you can game on this wired of course bluetooth is way to slow for gaming, i did some CS:GO and COD warzone without issues

Jorge G Thank you for your thorough response. Much appreciated. I’m getting into web development and need a full keyboard that is great for typing and can easily switch between multiple devices. From what I’ve seen/read so far the MX Keys seems to be a great experience overall. I also appreciate Logitech Flow; I have a Logitech MX Anywhere mouse so I hope that is supported with that mouse. Are their any non-gaming related cons to the MX Keys that you’ve noticed?

Thanks for this review! Very informative. I came here after seeing some renders/photos on the Logitech website that show the Enter key configured differently, spanning where backslash should be and cut thinner on the lower row to accommodate putting backslash there. I looked at that and thought "ohhhh noo, why would they do this??" But after double-checking the rest of the page and watching this review, it seems that must have been a design they (rightfully) nixed. Thaaank goodness! Anyway, this keyboard looks fantastic and the video was helpful and well-made.

Jmandude5 Technically he never said that the SK650 should or is supposed to offer tactile feedback; he was simply stating that there wasn’t any tactile feedback on the SK650, which was something that he needed for a more enjoyable/efficient typing experience.
@Jmandude5

Alex Conner yes perhaps, but that shouldn’t be counted as a negative for the sk650 since his personal preference are tactile switches. It makes the comparison between the two seem a little biased.

@hellNo116
@hellNo116 4 жыл бұрын
@Ziv Zulander that is why op comment is valid. how can you feel the switch actuate when it is linear. a linear red switch even full size is worse for typing. that is true for most ppl. i use mx browns and whenever i get to use red switched i dont know where the hell that think actuates and i get more tired because i put more effort to make sure it bottomed out so i can be sure that it actuated. if i am gaming i dont mind it and i usually end up ignoring it really fast, but if i am typing i came to expect my keyboard to give me some sort of feedback. probably just a preference that is the result of using my keyboard for like 4 years now.
@SimonJBergerActor
@SimonJBergerActor 4 жыл бұрын
I don't use linear, myself, but it makes sense that his kinestetic sense would give him a feel for where in the key's travel actuation happens after a bit of practice. Something I take his statement to mean doesn't happen with the Cooler Master one. Or you could just take his word for it, seeing as he reviews a lot of keyboards and probably doesn't just speak out of his donkey. ;)

@@hellNo116 Note that I'm just speculating here, since I can only interpret what he said, but I mean "feel it" the same way you can touch your nose with your eyes closed. It's not unreasonable to assume that your body learns to feel when your finger has pressed the key past the 1.2mm mark (or wherever actuation happens).
