I'm a software engineer & bought this keyboard, and let me say: wow. If you're a programmer, this keyboard is for you. The keystroke on this feels like what I wish every low-profile keyboard felt like. The multi-device connectivity works flawlessly - if you're planning on running multiple computers (I have a work mac, personal laptop, and gaming PC), this thing gets it done without any issues (on Windows re-pairing takes around 3-5 seconds, but that's my only gripe. Tried on my Ubuntu machine and it worked within about 1 second.). As mentioned, the stroke is solid & the cap play is minimal. The actuation is a little unclear since you have no audible click, but it's VERY hard to press these keys half-down, so you'll usually know when the key is pressed. Function keys (vol up, down, play/pause/etc) work well on both Mac and Windows. A huge selling point for me is that the keys are double-printed for both Mac and Windows keys, so I can go back and forth with ease. I haven't worked much with the Logitech Options software provided for this keyboard, but using it with my mouse (Logitech 720 triathlon - $50 and looks great with the keyboard with same device-switching) and it works great on Windows. I haven't had much luck with reprogramming keys on Mac, but that could be my fault. If you're a key-smasher like me who enjoys a low profile, luxury-laptop-esque typing experience, this is a great choice

My guy, I was looking at this keyboard for programming and you tipped the scales on my decision. Thank you

Absolutely dude. It’s been a year w this keyboard and frankly, most days I forget it exists - it just works. Battery is solid, functionality is good, never have any issues with missed strokes, backlighting is good. I’ll warn you that you’re not getting any kind of ultra luxury insane switches or anything. This keyboard is closer to like, the best membrane keyboard ever created. My only gripe is that there are small rubber feet on the bottom of the keyboard and one fell off, and created a kinda weird tilt to the whole thing. I ended up using some wiring harness tape I had (basically sticky canvas) to tape it back on & I haven’t thought about the issue since. Well worth it IMO & I hope you end up agreeing.

I have misophonia so gaming or classic office keyboards drive me nuts! So I was looking at the Logitech MX and even had it in my Amazon cart but thought I'll just check around and I was interested in the Cooler Master SK650. After searching up the MX one last time for a sound test I almost decided on the Cooler Master SK650 but then you did a comparison out of the blue, one next to another and sold me on the MX., THANK YOU! ~ Moncton, NB, Canada Quiet ✓ Backlit ✓ Full Size ✓ Wireless ✓ Aluminum ✓ Using the laptop keys, fingers get warm when gaming and I like to use an external monitor or a desktop with one. While I was doing my review of it, they actually offered a free palm rest, albeit in a combo pack with the new MX Master 3, but they're not doing that right now (probably because it's out of stock on their website). $20 for it is definitely too much for it.

Absolutely an awesome keyboard! Just got it yesterday, and oh boy is it amazing to write on. It really is a great typing experience. Somehow it just makes sense, in some odd fashion, and even seemingly made me write even faster than before. Maybe it simply makes it that much more enjoyable to write, compared to my other keyboards. Then again, I must admit it's also the most expensive keyboard I've bought so far. But when I was out in stores checking and trying out other more expensive keyboards, they never felt this good to write on. And it being silent, while typing yet not so silent that you won't notice whether or not you even typed the letters you wanted to. So in some cases it's even reduced my typing mistakes... This review truly sold me on it, and I have no complaints at all, so far. Hopefully it lasts long enough, in both reliability and versatility. Time will only tell.

@Ziv Zulander that is why op comment is valid. how can you feel the switch actuate when it is linear. a linear red switch even full size is worse for typing. that is true for most ppl. i use mx browns and whenever i get to use red switched i dont know where the hell that think actuates and i get more tired because i put more effort to make sure it bottomed out so i can be sure that it actuated. if i am gaming i dont mind it and i usually end up ignoring it really fast, but if i am typing i came to expect my keyboard to give me some sort of feedback. probably just a preference that is the result of using my keyboard for like 4 years now.
@SimonJBergerActor5 жыл бұрын
I don't use linear, myself, but it makes sense that his kinestetic sense would give him a feel for where in the key's travel actuation happens after a bit of practice. Something I take his statement to mean doesn't happen with the Cooler Master one. Or you could just take his word for it, seeing as he reviews a lot of keyboards and probably doesn't just speak out of his donkey. ;)

Mine just arrived tonight and I'm typing on it as we speak. It feels incredible. I got it off Amazon for $119.99, so a little bit on the pricier side. My MX mouse is my ride or die though. That thing is incredible, so I finally got the combo. Let's see how it works.

I have gone through a lot of keyboards. I have landed on the Magic Keyboard from Apple a few different times because despite the great feel of mechanical, I just like the incredibly low profile keys and the simpler wrist-rest-free design afforded by that really thin body. I recently got an iPad too, so I needed something that could have multiple inputs. I got a K380 because it had a tablet stand and I really liked the input dial, but it was way too high off the desk for me and the keys were wobbly as hell. When I got a new mouse in the MX Master 3 I decided I’d pull the trigger on the MX Keys as well, and I’m so glad I did. It’s cleanly designed, the key feel is amazing (better than the Apple keyboard because it’s more damped and the keys are more comfortable, but the travel is still fairly short like I prefer) and the backlight is nice, plus it has input buttons! I’m so glad I got this thing. If you’ve got similar standards and you’re considering this I totally recommend it, and get the wrist rest too, it’s extraordinarily comfortable and not hugely expensive (plus it goes all the way across, for if you’re a number pad typist like I am.)

Just found your channel as I was looking for a review on this keyboard - really impressed with the production quality and presentation! I've been using a Keychron C1 with brown switches for about a year and, to be perfectly honest, once the hype around mechanical keyboards wears off, I'm starting to get pretty tired of how loud this thing is. I'm a developer and sometimes have to work at night since most of my clients are in a different time-zone, and the sound of a mechanical keyboard can become really obnoxious after a while, especially when typing fast and at night. I'm probably going to pick up the MX Keys this week and give it a go. Really wish they had a TKL layout though, as I'm not a fan of the 100% layout and how far away the mouse has to sit.
@ferba88492 жыл бұрын
putting foam in your case can help dampen the sound of the keys. also, i'd recommend not using cherry MX brown switches, as they are one of the worst options you could pick in my opinion, next to cherry MX blues. if you're looking for tactility, i'd go with the boba u4t switches or durock sunflowers. durock sunflower switches do have 5 pins, so make sure your pcb can support it.

4:10 The SK650 has linear switches. That’s kind of the point.
@MHSPatriot20054 жыл бұрын
Jmandude5 Technically he never said that the SK650 should or is supposed to offer tactile feedback; he was simply stating that there wasn’t any tactile feedback on the SK650, which was something that he needed for a more enjoyable/efficient typing experience.
@Jmandude54 жыл бұрын
Alex Conner yes perhaps, but that shouldn’t be counted as a negative for the sk650 since his personal preference are tactile switches. It makes the comparison between the two seem a little biased.

First of your videos I've watched, and the combination of 1440p60 and the quality of your videos is amazing. Definite subscribe. I'm coming from the 740 logitech illuminated low profile, (on my 3rd, actually, got one for work, and one old one with significant deterioration of the the built-in wrist rest. This is a must buy. Now to see if the Craft is going to be good for Unity and game design...
@coreywolfgang5 жыл бұрын
Wrist rest comes free if you buy it with the mouse as a bundle on Logitech’s own site.
@HardwareCanucks5 жыл бұрын
I believe they discontinued this bundle after it sold out. Maybe they'll bring it back but at over $200 CAD for the combo they BETTER give that wrist rest for free......

I bought the Mx keys based on your review and it was a mistake, because this keyboard is definitely solid indeed but the keys are way to shallow and they hit your finger tips pretty hard when the button press has reached the bottom, not that comfortable at all to type on.. but on the bright side the new Mx 3 mouse is a WORLD of a difference to the Mx 2s, seriously HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE MX 3 MOUSE.. finally it's comfy to grasp and really use...you will love it and you'll forget your even using a mouse, that's how comfortable it is..it just feels soo one with your anatomy lol

It would be best if it had the usual grouped function keys. Like on a standard full-size keyboard. Programmers use the function keys every time and I personally find them impossible to work with because they are not grouped. Because I use 4 different compilers with different function key values.

I’ve been looking through a lot of keyboards that will work with my mac, my work windows laptop, and my gaming pc including all the major brands like keychron, other Logitech products, cooler master, Razer, etc - I think this is gonna be it. Never knew I’d like this weird keyboard, but here I am.

I used a display model and really enjoyed the feel of typing with this board. I would prefer a OS specific (Windows, Mac or Linux) key layout, though, as I think it would declutter the cap's aesthetics. That might defeat a bit of the marketing angle, though. I would still like to own this board
@onlycodered2 жыл бұрын
Technically there is a Mac-specific one with only a Mac key layout. Can't say the same for Windows though.

The craft is a GREAT keyboard. I have one as well. But honestly I find the dial gets in the way more than it helps because its easy to hit by accident. This looks very solid.
