Washing up. After I’ve used my HYTRiC, I fill it with water and heat it up. Then transfer the water to a washing up bowl, that gives me the water to wash up everything other than the cookpot . With a cloth or paper towel, it’s a doddle to clean the pot with the remaining dampness and the lid. I’m very happy with this piece of kit.

Try soaking pasta for a bit before adding. I do that sometimes when making vegan Mac and Cheese. Thanks for the recipe and instructions on use. There's also a version with a handle. I'm not sure which would be better, both have lids & two heat settings, 300 and 600 watts. What's the approximate diameter? Would a slice of bread fit on the bottom?
@Wizardinthewild11 ай бұрын
Hi Robin. Thanks for watching. Handy tip about the pasta! I might have to try that. I find the pot with 2 small handles a bit easier for storage, but a single handle would probably make pouring easier. Yes, you could fit a slice of bread in the bottom. The pot is 20cm in diameter at the top and 15 cm at the base in the inside . Hope this helps. ❤️👍😊🚐

Very nice. I've used mine with a 1000w solar generator when the power is out and really enjoy it. Heated water for coffee and then made pancakes while the coffee was in the french press. How does this compare to the pan you also demoed?
@Wizardinthewild Жыл бұрын
Hi jampan. I use the low watt hot pot for both frying and cooking one pot meals as it’s so versatile. I also have a small instant pot. Not sure if you mean that one. It’s also very good and has a slow cooker/ keep warm/ and pressure cooker setting. As well as a sauté setting. It’s a bit bigger though and takes up more room in the van. So I don’t always pack it as it doesn’t fit in any of the cupboards. So gets stored under the bed. Great in the winter for stews etc though. The hot pot fits in a drawer as it’s much smaller so lives in the van full time. Both are great off grid as frugal with electric 😊
@jampam-jf8mt Жыл бұрын
@@Wizardinthewild yes the electric pan you previously demonstrated. I have seen another brand of electric pans, steamers and pots called Audecook. They do a 1.5 and 2 litre pan...looks very similar to yours but not sure if they're as good..

@@Wizardinthewild I liked the appearance of it a lot. It was the most attractive option and reasonably priced. Those things may be low wattage but they heat incredibly fast. A third, lower temp of about 200w or so would be perfect. I forget if that is ceramic or Teflon-like. Wanted ceramic. Did find one that looked very similar on Amazon, but the ceramic was always chipped.

how to calculate consumption. Could be usefull for solar nerds. 1 minute = 0,0167 hour. So lets say you want to cook soap which takes 20 minutes. So lets say 320 wats x (0,0167*20 minutes) = 320 x 0,334 = 106 Wh from power bank or solar station. It could be lower when you turn off and on device when it must be done because of big babbling, lets say 100 Wh. How much time is needed to "top 100 Wh back" to your battery or solar power station? 100 watt panel = 1 hour 200 watt panel = 30 minutes formula for calculation ( 0,0167*30minutes*200 watt power from solar panel =100 wh) 300 watt panel = 20 minutes 400 watt panel = 15 minutes 500 watt panel = 12 minutes 600 watt panel = 10 minutes 700 watt panel = 8,5 minutes 800 watt panel = 7,5 minutes 900 watt panel = less than 7 minutes 1000 watt panel = 6 minutes
@Wizardinthewild6 ай бұрын
Thanks for that you have put a lot of effort in to help us. Appreciated. I tend to monitor the apps to see what is going out. Obviously weather affects what’s coming in on solar. If we are getting a bit low I turn on my B2B when driving. With the alternator, b2b and solar I can get over 40amps charge. My batteries are x2 120ah lithium. Difficult to say exactly how long it takes to charge them to full as there are so many variable. So I just monitor them. If need be I get Ellie to only cook on gas instead of the inverter. It works well for us. Thanks for you you time and effort. 🐶🐶🐶🧙♂️🚐👍🙏
