Keto butter?
@fransak27232 жыл бұрын
Two tips: 1. when combining dry ingredients try a small whisk. 2. When adding butter to dry ingredients try using a pastry blender, a fork or two butter knives in a criss cross fashion. (& a bigger bowl😋)

You make me hungry just watching you cook - you have the cutest expressions when you enjoy your food.... I never did keto before, but the more I watch you, the more I think it's do-able... I am a sweet eater so knowing this is keto-friendly is amazing... It seems like it would be calorie dense (my weight watcher mentality), but I guess as long as there's no carbs, it should work! Can you just stop at one piece, that's the question? Thank you Myra, you are a delight to watch! Quick question, how does that sweetener compare to the monk fruit? Thanks

Delicious - I cooked my coffee cake for 30 minutes and it’s nice and moist. I used sugar free brown sugar instead of the molasses. I only put 1 teaspoon but I’m not sure if that is enough .. since molasses was 1 teaspoon. Does Anyone know if this was the correct measurement for the brown sugar? ❤it. Thanks Katie 😊
@fransak27232 жыл бұрын
This,is my first time making any type of keto baked goods. I followed your recipe pretty closely. I used coconut oil in the batter and butter in the crumbs. The batter seemed very stiff so I add two tablespoons of heavy cream. I also added some chopped walnuts to the crumbs. It took a bit longer to bake. The flavor was very whole wheat-ish if you know what I mean. The texture was pretty coarse. I would have to say it wasn’t great and I don’t think it was worth effort. It definitely tasted better with some sugar free whipped cream on it. Maybe I’m just not used to the sugar substitutes.
@lovealwaysjasmine2 жыл бұрын
I made this but with flax eggs and vegan butter. It’s delicious! I definitely need to get used to alternative sugar taste. It’s not as sweet as a regular coffee cake, but it’s delish. I used Truvia brown sugar for the batter and for the crumble truvia white sugar. This would be amazing with a drizzle of choczero maple syrup and a hot cup of tea or coffee.

The almond/coconut flour combo is BOMB. That's how I make my keto cookies and the texture and taste are like regular cookies. I stumbled across that combo by just experimenting. I got sick of the almond flour texture.
@daintybeigli2 жыл бұрын
I hear you! I’ve gotten to the point where the dense almond texture almost grosses me out. I’ve been experimenting with lupin flour, mixed with psyllium husk and oat fibre. It’s almost the opposite in terms of density, but I’ve been having promising results for muffins and quickbreads. I just wish there were more recipes without almond flour or that limit it!

So, would you go half coconut flour, half almond flour? Is that ratio?

@@tredd9019 depends on the recipe. I've never done a half and half because you have to make sure you add enough liquid. Coconut flour requires a good amount of liquid.

@@truthbtold2509 I hate both blueberries and raspberries, so for me to eat it it will need another fruit or no fruit at all as it is now. Apples and cinnamon pair well flavor wise BTW the fructose level in apples is dependent on which apple you use - granny smith vs red delicious, etc It wouldn't take much apple to add some apple flavor.She also has a doughnut recipe that looks good. :)
