Prime 2 is the best prime game imo. I know everyone has their favorite though but I think your selling prime 2 short. Also why are you dooming over a 30 second teaser trailer. At least wait until they really show the game off next year.

Retro studios has done everything right so far for metroid prime 4 Beyond hiring talented people, using the best assets the rude engine can offer, and putting it out on the switch and its successor. We have been waiting seven years for gameplay and now we got it sure the trailer could have been better but now all we can do is hope for the best when it releases. Also the franchise was not dead it just went into hiatus after the events of other m and federation force.

A lot of your complaints abou the trailer boil down to personal preference. I loved the new samus desing, and i suspect the new suit was conceived with its use on motion capture scenes in mind (the scene where samus rolls to the side to avoid debris, looks like motion capture to me. Also, a lot of job positions at retro hinted at it). Sylyx is perfect, they translated his suit from Hunters, to a more Realistic style, while maiting his iconic look. The graphics are good, i dont know what you expected, but the game was promised for the Switch from the very beggining. I see a lot of fans complaining about the new Samus fanfarre, and ????, whats wrong with a new style for this new game (or trilogy)? Fusion and Dread changed the style a lot more, yet, i didnt see as many people complaining abt it. Now, on the trailer itself... yeah, it was okay-ish, tought, I wouldn't worry too much, at least not until we see the next trailers. The TOTK and BOTW trailers really showed almost nothing, until the last trailer, right bf4 launch

I hated it. Zero exploration, zero new mechanics and focus on combat on hectic battlefields. It's like they're trying to turn it into Call of Duty.
@Terron2923 күн бұрын
@@thenonexistinghero oh I didnt really look at it that way at all. I think simply getting to see the game, what it looks like and what the combat will be like as well as some music is enough for a good trailer. I would be devastated if its an action focused experience. I fully expect it to have a very heavy emphasis on exploration and atmosphere. My two favorite aspects to any metroidvania. Time will tell of course.

@@thenonexistinghero You have to be trolling. There's no way you're serious. It was a short 2 min trailer. Prime 1, 2, and 3 all started out action focused at first then slowed down for exploration. And we get a glimpse of exploration in the last 10 secs of the trailer. To have that drastic of an opinion when we know so little about the game is ridiculous.
@rhomayyann46918 күн бұрын
@@Terron29 Ignore that comment. They're take is trash. Every Prime game started out action focused then toned it down for exploration. Like the MP4 trailer did. The last 10 seconds showed off the more slow paced exploration Metroid is known for. It's going to be great.

Imma b fr dude im tryna hear you out but i feel like you dont like the series, not attacking or anything but i feel like a lot of the complaints you got with the trailer are somewhat nitpicks, like samus coming out of the shit and the theme going on, thats like, been a staple of the entire series, its not going to be a main menu theme, maybe i misinterpreted what you meant but i felt that was a weird nitpick, or how the game doesnt look good? Like i feel the game looks fucking fantastic for the switch, plus retro hiring people specifically for raytracing tells me for the next switch it's going to be super amazing in terms of graphic infidelity. Although i kinda see what you're coming at, trying to base with everything nintendo has shown us, but i feel you should be hopefull rather than fall yourself in the doomer mindset with this game, being worried about a lot of games today dont deliver shouldnt apply to nintendo when 95% of the time they make sure that their games are top noch, *especially* with the metroid series. I say give the new team hope

As an older guy 40+ I totally agree with that of expecations are getting lower and lower.. Companies are doing math these days ignoring the passion of creation. To create something great you need a free genuine passion, something that the CEO's wont let you do. Hype tempered, expecting a standard Prime game, which compared to most games nowadays may be great to amazing by comparison... That will at least be a victory for Retro, but if they want another Trilogy, which I assume Nintendo does - they will need to release a 10/10 game and nothing less than that next year. No bullsh*t, no controversy, no over-complications.

I lowered my expectations years before it was seen because it was obviously in development hell and usually that doesn't spell much good for the game. Then also lowered it a bit more when the game was shown... because what they showed just wasn't very impressive. Graphically it looked pretty okay, but what they showed was basically a chaotic battle. Not only is that something that I don't care about in a Metroid game, but we've also already had that in Prime 3's opening. And about equally as bad is the fact that they didn't even show any new gameplay mechanics to look forward to. Honestly, I think it's an abomination of a trailer. If trailers are meant to set expectations, then the expectations with this trailer are set completely wrong. Metroid's strongest points lie in its exploration and the feeling of being almost alone on a dangerous planet. Yet the expectation they wanted to set is Call of Duty. I could be wrong and would love to be wrong, but my expectation is that this game will have a heavy focus on combat and not as much on exploration.

@excellence5144 last I checked Metroid Dread is the only Metroid game to break 3 million in sales to date, also I personally liked Samus Returns.
@thenonexistinghero24 күн бұрын
@@excellence5144 I think Dread is extremely overrated. The game is the most linear Metroid game ever created. Literally the only way to diverge from the main path is through sequence breaks, at no point in the game before the endgame is there a way to freely explore without doing that. I'm someone who tries to go into every path but the main path first in these types of games, but in Dread it was just dreadful. Fusion is pretty linear too, but there are points in the game where you can actually explore (without requiring sequence breaks), but that's not the case in Dread at all. I do think Dread's bosses for most part are pretty great and it looks nice visually, but overall it felt like a weak game. I couldn't do the one thing I really love doing in Metroid games, which is getting lost and exploring. You can't do that until the endgame where you basically just revisit every area to grab anything that you missed or that was impossible to get at first. Well, technically it is possible at very few points in the game to backtrack and make your way out and then explore 'some' areas a bit, but since it wasn't intended it takes ages to actually do that. Makes for a very mindless and boring backtrack and you'll need to go all the way back to the main story path afterwards with the exact same route as before.
