nr2003. It has so much attention to detail. It paved the way for iRacing and is now free, and if you change the graphics in the files can run on just about anything. Not to mention it's one of the only games now to feature the inside of the car in the rearview mirror, few games except iRacing have that.

The first NASCAR game i played was NASCAR 98 on the PS1... fun times, but my favorite has to be Nascar Racing 2003, just the modding scene alone is keeping this juggernaut alive! Not to mention the amazing ai... and ofcourse there is also the GTP mod itself.

Well, since you asked, as a Spaniard I'm curious about NASCAR but I haven't really gotten much of a taste of it or its official games. The only two I have managed to get my hands on for now are the '99 NASCAR Racing 3 on PC and EA's NASCAR 2005 on the Xbox. Out of them I'd go with the latter as my favorite. (Edit: I'm currently mostly a PS4 player. Is NASCAR 21 Ignition any good or should I save up for an iRacing subscription?)

My favorite NASCAR game is NASCAR Inside Line on the Wii because it has the polish and content of a top tier racing game and yet it somehow runs on the Wii. It has a full career mode with a custom team, performance upgrades, dynamic sponsor signing and rewards, decent 4 player split screen, championship mode, all of the 2012 cars and tracks, challenges, and historic challenges (only downside being that the AI drivers don't know how to avoid wrecks, personally though I don't mind it because it makes really funny crashes) Definitely the most underrated NASCAR game (I am only talking about the Wii version as the other versions are not impressive due to it virtually being the same as the Wii version.)

Nascar Thunder 04.. when started to play "Tear it up" by Andrew WK and you are playing with Dale Sr, well.. you became the intimidador himself and start to shove everyone in front of you and get the checkered flag! Also liked Nascar 08/09 (can't remember but is the one with Jeff Gordon on the cover), i loved the career there where you need to make your avatar, start with modified, then trucks, busch and then the top series,you need to get cars to race and post race cutscenes were cool!

NASCAR Heat 4 I didn't get to play any of the EA games or dirt to daytona and I only played 2012 for Eut so I played mostly the heat games and 4 is the best of the 5 but I wish they carried over some of the features from the games like Heat 2 with the best Hotseat style or Heat 3 I loved the track history for the challenges instead of the skins or heck I liked Heat 2 with the drivers commentating on the track and the best way to run it.

Favorite NASCAR Racing game OAT is the godfather of iRacing; NASCAR Racing 2003 Season from Papyrus Racing. I bought it brand new (as well as NR2002, NR4, NR3, NR2 and the original NASCAR Racing), and I still have my copy of 2003. It's the only one I've played that feels like a simulator, and that's what I go for.
