A lot of well deserved comments regarding safety. Much better place to work than bicycle factory video. Factory conditions here similar to when I worked at Chevrolet Warren plant in mid-60's. 500 ton presses stamping out parts continuously. Lots of noise, no hearing protection. Other than safety glasses little or no protection otherwise. That's why so many industrial robots now, they don'r need safety equipment among other things humans need.

This vid is a good instruction on capitalism and economies. The machines do what a human can't, but humans do what they can, such as positioning and moving materials. What this tells us is that the cost of wages is less than the cost of capital needed to fully automate. Raising wages until the cost of capital is lower than human capital won't work because layoffs due to increased automation will just drive wages back down on average across the industrial sector. A bigger picture view shows that because India was prevented from industrializing naturally by the British Raj she was quite behind at Independence in 1948 and had to work very hard just to play catch-up. Missing out on early industrialization meant that she did not develop export markets which, by enlarging them, would increase wages in India making capital less expensive in which case she could have zoomed ahead. There is little room if any in the export markets, and what room their might have been back in the 1980s was soaked up by China's system of state capitalism in which capital was made less expensive than human capital. It was a bad decision made by India in 1948 to cozy up with USSR and adopt 5 and 7 year plans which just didn't work for USSR or India. USSR kept vacuum tubes in production long after the transistor replaced them in the capitalist West, denying her the chance to be like for instance Japan, which embraced the transistor early on. In this particular example lower cost of capital won't help, as it is too late. Though a huge number of Indian households still use LPG that number will decline as electrical generation and distribution increases. India's extra income that makes it possible to increase the amount of electricity generation comes almost entirely from the IT sector which I think is probably India's number one export. Bollywood movies may be number 2 export. Her only agricultural export of any note is tea, though agri exports are increasing slowly .

Thanks for sharing your valuable observation. This my help thousands of Indian citizens to think once again.
@tvoommen46885 жыл бұрын
@rh001yt. Your write-up is worthy reading. It is unlikely that electrity is going to replace LPG in near-future for reasons related to cost. India's film industry is no.2 in world film industry, not among the country's exports.

I worked for a major LP Cylinder Manufacturer in Ohio, and it was mass production. This is a small shop and their welds look good. I hope their trainers teach robust safety because the personal protection from these machines is next to ZERO. Also clean up that mess and it will be safer to work there just from that. Just don't hire the wrong person to run those machines- there will be body parts lying all over the floor!

The simple semiautomatic process seems having two main problems which have to be corrected. 1. Safety as explained by some readers. 2. Throwing out the semi cylinders to conveyor belts with metallic parts may render stress points on the cylinder surface that may develop corrosion points by oxidation ( gas impurities, water vapour,air) or even weak points against high gas pressure. This can result to serious accident.

What is that white powdery stuff used during wielding?
@AllAroundMeExclusive6 жыл бұрын
They are not white power. They are granulated flux. The granulated flux shields and thus protects molten weld from atmospheric contamination. The flux cleans weld metal and can also modify its chemical composition. The flux is granulated to a definite size. It may be of fused, bonded or mechanically mixed type. The flux may consist of fluorides of calcium and oxides of calcium, magnesium, silicon, aluminium and manganese. Alloying elements may be added as per requirements. Substances evolving large amount of gases during welding are never mixed with the flux. Flux with fine and coarse particle sizes are recommended for welding heavier and smaller thickness respectively.

The coils of steel are stored haphazardly in the yard. Many are opening out. Few meters of the outer sheet is rusted. Space management concept is poor. The shop floor is also a mess. Finished items and unfinished ones are strewn all over the place. It is obvious that subalterns run the place and higher ups rarely visit so long as the targets are delivered by the foreman. There would also be underhand dealings where workers and others sell scrap metal on the sly cheating the owners. There will be under reporting of scrap yields. Input to output tallying of the stock will not be done on day to day basis to make it difficult for audit to fix responsibility. This is the classic Indian style of industrial management.
