She got a little hot there at the end but, see to running and returning to idle pretty well. - As you know, it’s super frustrating to have a low quality/poor performing carb. I bet just changing the carb to the Rossi, helped the engine considerably Going over the timing numbers like you and Kings do, is a great thing. Even if you can’t “feel” or see a difference when the engine is running, you know you have modified the engine have can compare the before and after numbers. Nice work Thanks for the fun vid Tasty 🩷

The lrp runs good but I think I will open the crank a bit more. The temp was ok.. for an lrp. Usually she runs in the 140-45°C, she is more consistent and running a bit cooler after the mods. Sucking more fuel helps! Thanks for watching
@mazpr2025Ай бұрын
@@TastyBRCI would add just half an ounce to an ounce of castor oil to a gallon of nitro fuel. I do this to all my fuel, it does make a little bit of mess from the exhaust, but the engines run cooler. Usually, imo, porting the sleeve, In port the intake and boost ports, but rarely the exhaust. It is a .32, is a torque monster, put a good .21 engine and imo will run much faster. I would change the clutch bell a teeth or two bigger for more top end, and remove some of that nasty low end torque. The buggy sounds good, but I think you are limited by the fact it is a .32. I would like to see it rippin in the dirt, most throw some nasty roosters ...

Great vid buddy 👍 By the sound and temperature you can open the crank some more. You can't really compare the crank timing with a .21 since the displacement is much bigger. Think the exhaust timing and blowdown is good. I wouldn't take more material of the counterweight if you want topend. It now spools up pretty quick. Wonder how far you can open the crank before it's getting to weak....maybe 240 max???? Try 230/235 first i guess.

Thank you Kings. I was very surprised, Rex got lower numbers on the lrp 32 but I am very accurate on these numbers, maybe higher numbers on the 4.1. I will try a different pipe before modding again. The reds 2104 is a high end pipe but the torque was crazy with this pipe!

I run 30% Nitro in my 32x Spec4, and it runs cool as a cucumber, and holds a tune really well. I hardly ever have to touch the HSN, and NEVER have to touch the LSN. I just run it, and enjoy it. No frustration whatever with this engine.

Stock carb?
@davelowets4 ай бұрын
No. It is an SH carb with the replaceable venturis. I've had great luck with this carburetor on various engines, and had heard that the LRP carburetor is not great, so I broke the engine in with the xtec carb, and then switched to the SH carb when it was time to tune.

@@TastyBRC I have a nova on my zr 28 and yes it’s definitely a totally different experience. But so far the newly designed lrp carb on the .32 spec 4.1 is doing ok obviously you know they thermal lined it as the old carbs go to hot and boiled the nitro! I hope it hold up for a wile because nova carbs are hard to find and my os carb is on the Mach 28 which also has a terrible stock carb 😂

@TastyBRC8 ай бұрын

@@TastyBRCMe too. I had a few SH .28s 3p and they lasted a long time. Then I came across a new Dynamite Big Red .28 6p for a good deal, and then I found a .28 pro 8p piston and sleeve set on clearance for $20, so I bought a few sets and threw one in the Big Red engine. Do you modify nitro engines for anyone. I want a strong nitro engine for a old 5.9 SavageXL Monster Truck that will idle good at long term temps. My LRP ZR32 spec.2 never stays running , but I want the same torque & power. Or do you recommend a different engine for the HPI Savage XL or a carburetor for a new ZR32 spec4 that will run nice without shutting off every 30 seconds))? That's the only thing I can't stand about this engine. I'm sure Spec 4 isn't any different without you modifying it. Any info would be great, or if you want to sale one after you make it right anything). Thank You
