One thing I love about Toyota's is they use the same socket for most of the engine bay. Meaning you don't have to keep changing your socket. Can you do a video of how you place all of your bits you have taken off the car to keep them organised for replacement. Do you lay them down left to right, mark them up or what?

I got one of these from Aircat, mine is grey. Also bought the same adapter because you need that extra swivel in tight areas. I noticed you have the other aircat impact gun, I have the 1/2 which works great for almost everything including tires.

The timing belt is the first part that rolls down the assembly line ans the rest of the car is built around it.

The center crankshaft gear looks like it's lined up using the dimple you pointed out... and the keyway in the gear/crankshaft.

Good reason not to buy a car with a timing belt, look at all that work to get at it, I’m tired just watching lol. This convinces me to only get a car with a timing chain

That car must be one of the worst to do a timing belt job on it. Others are much simpler. Timing chains can also fail and they will. Timing chain guides, and/or timing chain tensioners also fail.

@@johnboutchia2349 If one used poor quality oil, or extended drain intervals, chains will wear out and engines will be out of timing. Especially on modern engines with very long timing chains. Yes, they do last more than the belts, but if you need to replace one it's a lot more involved. In the pushrod days, the chains were very short and they lasted longer. Look at this monstrosity: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4CkiHSqh5aHbpI And if you get a car with the chain 'behind the engine', on the transmission side, you're going to wish you had a timing belt! So, like in many things, "it depends".

Timing chain is way more difficult but with proper maintenance, you don't have to change it at all.

@@scientist100 Define proper maintenance. Today's long drain intervals don't really help with engine longevity, chain included. If you're always buying new cars, or with very low mileage, then it's likely not an issue. But if you're buying high mileage cars, even if they were serviced at the recommended intervals, the probability of chain issues is greater. I have a 2001 model car with over 360000km. I'm happy it has a timing belt and it was changed not long before I bought the car.
