Joe Burrow set all kinds of new records along with having the highest percentage of first place votes in history, he had 841 first place votes and 2nd place runner up had 20 votes. Joe has a 77.9 completion average, the very best ever in the history of the Heisman, and produced the nations number one offense. Joe is a great leader, hard worker, dedicated athlete and Christian, he reads defenses better than any quarterback in the nation and is one of the most humble, polite, star athlete that you will ever meet. Thank you for giving 100% of your heart and soul to be a great individual. GOD bless you. Geaux TIGERS !!!

Bostown Skinn I apologize that you haven’t heard Joe tell reporters on several occasions that GOD has a plan. I am sorry he didn’t not mention GOD’s name last night but I am positive it was due to the overwhelming emotions running through his mind. If you can not tell he is a Christian and was extremely humbled by the speech he made, I feel sorry for you and pray that you learn to see GOD in others by the love that is in them. JESUS said the greatest gift of all is LOVE, and if you overlooked that from his speech, in all respect, I ask that you listen to his speech once again. Thank you and GOD bless you.

Gator fan here, if Joe Burrow didn’t deserve that Heisman, nobody did. He was by far the best player in America. Whether he was playing a good or a bad defense he was dominant. He combined for 79 points against Florida and Georgia. Good Lord what a year. Go gators and go Joe Burrow.

Congratulations to Coach O. He's such a hard worker and I am glad to see him have success and have a chance to do it while going home after he was treated so poorly at USC. He took over as the interim coach and inspired them to finish out a lost season and go to a bowl game. He always seemed to be a player's coach and was willing to give people a chance. Our loss is LSU's gain. Joe Burrow was right; he should get to stay there as long as he wants. From an SC fan.

Wait, whaaat? Ed wasn't alive when Billy Cannon won the trophy so how he grew up watching him play is hyperbole on Coach O's part. But in terms of who's more fun to watch play, Joe is infinitely more entertaining than Billy ever was.* And I'm old enough to have attended the 1959 Ole Miss game in BR. LSU has had some good coaches including the traitor Saban. But Coach O is the best thing to happen to Louisiana football since Sean Payton arrived in New Orleans. *At the time, LSU was coached by Paul Dietzel who, because of the substitution rules in college football at the time, used a "three-platoon system", which split the team into the "White Team", the "Go Team", and the "Chinese Bandits." So there were stretches where Billy didn't play. (The White Team went both ways, Go Team was second string offense, Chinese Bandits second string defensive. You could substitute a player only twice per quarter, hence Dietzel's platoon system.)

Bert Jones Cannon did play professionally for 11 seasons.
@bertjones30105 жыл бұрын
@@theknightswhosay True, but I never saw him play after that game at LSU. And he wasn't playing for the LSU but for money so it meant less to me. I think Jackie Smith was more meaningful for me when he played for St. Louis, but that might be because he's from my home town. I didn't mean to slight Cannon or his Heisman, just comparing the impact overall between the two players.

@@jalder21 Like I said, I wasn't trying to disrespect Billy. I mean seriously, other than Billy being born in the South, who do you find was more enjoyable to watch? Plus, the desert that made up the offensive scheme of LSU for so many years - in the QB position - left a driverless car considering the talent on hand - has had me fuming for that position to competently filled and coached for years. As much a Miles reminded me of a favorite cousin, he had too much of the Woody Hayes syndrome rubbed off on him. Ya gotta give Coach O big time cred for 'getting it' offensively and doing something about it. You have to admit considering how many pros scattered across the NFL, one would expect a couple more Heismans in our fold. But it takes a complete team to get ya there.
