It kinda hurts how much of this is mostly Nintendo content considering how much Nintendo could theoretically gain from actually utilizing their backlog. Incidentally, on a note somewhat related to the Satellaview, there was a nice archival of St.GIGA music leaked a few days back.

@@dreamareakoso3791 Funny thing is I actually did a bit of research into it - turns out it may predate the pilot of Nick Arcade since I tried to match it up to the prototypes we know and it seems to most line up with that one since the Unused GHZ Ball isn't removed yet and seems to closely match in behavior to the version seen in Nick Arcade, albeit the nick Arcade version seems more finished. If I had to guess this is likely an early build they made in anticipation for Nick Arcade they would then polish it up and send it off when ready it also still has the Marble Zone UFOs so it also has to predate Sonic's appearance in Wayne's World.

I believe the "Long awaited" quote in the Super Kid Icarus blurb is just referencing the fact that it was a scarce Nintendo series with only two niche titles at the time, with fans looking forward to more. Looks like things haven't changed much decades later, hopefully Nintendo sees the success of Metroid Dread and brings back series like Kid Icarus, F-Zero and the like for more games.

As someone who collects Etone plushies, it is so incredibly hard to find specific things they've made. I searched for over 5 years to find one of their large sized white raccoon plushes from the 80s for sale and i haven't seen another one for grabs since. Same with their giant tan raccoon. I could only imagine how much harder it would be to find something like a Jumpman plush from them, considering he wasnt a widely recognized character at the time nor a cute critter that would appeal to kids.

ya its 100% a mock up the materials on yoshi alone proves that as you can easily see similarities with donkey kong country promo renders and 100% would end up looking different in the game. Not to even bring up the fidelity of the background being way to clear and not stupidly compressed like any of the other "3d" games on the gba.I do wonder where it came from though 2000 rarely had real 3d fanart ontop its very well put together that shows a good grasp on the style Nintendo at the time with how the UI and materials are handled.

Yeah Yeah Beebiss was more or less confirmed to be a copyright trap in the time since that original video was made. Neil Levin, one of the founders of Play It Again, stated in an interview that it was a common business practice to add fake game names to see if anyone was copying them. On a related note: have you heard the sequel, Yeah Yeah Beebiss II is coming to the Nintendo Switch in February? :0)

I'm Swedish and Bergsala is a very familiar name to those of us who grew up with Nintendo systems of that era. The 2006 contest was after I stopped following their stuff (busy with real life) but you can probably contact some of Bergsala's ex-staff from that time to see who the winner of the second DS is. Pretty sure they also still had a paper magazine that was handed out to fanclub members at the time so you can search for that also. Best of luck.

I have a possible new search for a "lost" game that I have been searching for over 6 years and never found anything. It was a game on Xbox 360. It had a simple, short name. I remember it had an N and E in it. It was a 2d, but non-pixel game. So you are a black, mannequin like player, and you are in a room with black walls and an obstacle course. When you die, you fall apart into limbs. You have to jump on things, and electrical things. You jump on multiple things to go on the floor above and there's a exit. You go to another room, but significantly harder. There's a tutorial. That's all I remembered.

Don't know if you've had anyone in the comments point this out yet, but Quarterman wasn't any one particular person, it was whoever they tapped for the position with it changing from one editor to the next. I want to say it even changed hands month-to-month at times. I wouldn't be able to pinpoint the exact video or podcast now, but Jeff Gertsmann (who was familiar with those working at the publication) corroborates this.

Seeing you talk about the Jumpman prototype triggered a memory of a WWF/WWE Figure that I remember VIVIDLY from my childhood, always wanted it, but it was an expensive collectors thing I never had money to buy. Til I went to try and find it last year, and I cant even find pictures of it now. It was from the Legends Gold/Black box line of the early 2000's and it was a bloody variant Cactus Jack in his King of the Deathmatch gear (white shirt covered in blood) and I basically gave up finding it at this point, but I know it was real. I used to stalk the toy sites for the new wrestlers and remember that one always catching my eye.

Alright. You’ve convinced me YYB1 probably isn’t a copyright trap. But I did realize something weird as I watched this video. The name has always been hilarious to me in a way I couldn’t place. Well, I think it’s because it sounds so similar to a classic Ramones song called “She’s the One.” The chorus to the song is “Yeah! Yeah! She’s the One!” If a non-native English speaker was listening to this song, they might hear it as “Yeah! Yeah! Beeviss I!” No idea what that means, but it is odd.

Man I remember playing Heart Gold years ago and using that portable Poke Walker that came with the boxed game. You could upload Pokemon and bring them with you on adventures or to school and they would unlock some special content depending on events and other things. I recall getting a ride to a Gamestop an hour away just to try and get some special collection Pokemon uploaded to my game but they could only do it from the store itself. That specific event ended after only a few days I believe and nobody I know has the event pokemon or cosmetics.

Beebiss was placed on the list as a follower trap. They knew that other companies would swoop in and try to buy the fake game at a marginally lower price after the initial pricing announcement. Occam's Razor fully applies. Yeah Yeah Beebiss was a trap, but not a copyright trap. Some of LSSQs assumptions don't hold, like "if it was a trap, it'd be on the list longer." I'd disagree, as it'd only need to be on as long as it needed. "Somebody had to go and price them out." Only one group needed to price them out. It's very common in several flipping industries to lean on each other's pricing structure. Don't you look at ebay ads to see how much people are buying/selling collectibles? "They were in the same magazine." The magazine won't care. It's not their job to scan these ads and ensure one isn't lifting content from the other. They take the ad, make sure it's relevant and not obviously illegal, and get paid. Period.

Loved the video, but had to interject one thing; The idea gaming mags were putting out fake news is not entirely accurate, at least in my humble opinion. I am one who fully enjoyed gaming and the media in the 80's and 90's, and actually still have most of those mags that were mentioned. To the best of my knowledge Qman was just authored by random rotating staff at EGM. It was a section for gossip and speculation as there was much of that around the industry. Most of it was information that never came into anything special, but it was entertaining. The Qman section was one of my favourite sections of the mag years ago. That and the psycho letter of the month. Long live Captain Calzone!

I truly believe this was perhaps Dweebers, or close to possibly the original(?) title for Dweebers. A lot of people think that the Rai Rai game is the answer because it "sounds" like Beebiss. But here's the thing: Dweebers "sounds" much more like it, and was actually never released. Rai Rai "sounds" like it, but only if you remove the rest of the title, and if they were going to release it over here they would have used a wildly different title for Rai Rai than the Japanese translation, plus the "I" is nowhere to be found in Rai Rai's title, so they would have had to add something to a title that was already bizarre enough. The argument that the "full title" of Rai Rai sounds like Yeah Yeah only makes sense if you never touch on how American translated titles were often so wildly different than the Japanese titles, so why keep that part? Dweebers was the American title, again as far as I know, of the Vic Tokai game. Some bizarre screw up of what Dweebers was supposed to be basically fills in all the wholes, with the sole exception of what the "I" at the end was. But since "I" could have just been an exclamation point that was poorly done, even that's not some huge leap.

28:00 Hahaha, yea. Loads of "news" was fake either to fill pages or simply stir up buzz. Part of the reason was that loads were simply fans writing about stuff and part of it was that there were loads of publications and a rather small install base. Even to this day, while being more professional, this is still a rather big issue with gaming journalism. And while today the whole "lets just make up shit about a company future products" is largely dead, they still have a heavy hand at creating "controversy" as controversy these days sells better than tales of new releases. Granted the latter also has enter in some normal publication for clicks reasons.

We from the lost media community have been finding it very old on KZbin, gameplay (mod) minecraft playing is in the middle of the forest with light fog and there are also wolves when playing they hit the wolves eyes turn red I only remember at the end of the gameplay the lake turns red when sonic.exe appears at the end to kill the player, maybe by the time I'm 9 or 10 years old I've already researched a lot about nothing else, if anyone knows about this gameplay it's already very good for me

For the Animal Crossing DSs. I'm fairly certain I heard that Summer and Fall variants resurfaced since that original video. Fall being found just recently, as a matter of fact.

I remember stumbling across that Pinkman Anime (Animation) on a website like New Grounds and not on KZbin. Hence why the original uploader never posted it here. For some strange reason few content creators post Thier New Grounds content on KZbin.

The purple Yoshi image is clearly a mockup. The GBA can't make anything like that and the image looks a lot like the sort of rubbish fake images they would come up with at the time. I believe the Pikmin short was fanmade for Newgrounds.

It's so strange seeing these boards talking about the GBA when it was new. GBA SP was my first handheld and it saddens me that it no longer works.

I’m shocked that as Nintendo motion controls got better they never tried Yoshi safari again…I owned a copy as a kid but I think it was missing something I think it was the sensor for the scope cause the scope didn’t fire

Can you really call internal prototype builds of games lost media? It's not like they were ever available to begin with, nor were they meant to be. And pretty much any piece of creative media ever made has pre-production versions of itself that isn't available to the public.

So I'm not super good at this detective stuff to find out if this is a real lead or not but at the off chance it is I thought I'd let you know and you can decide if it's worth looking into or can be debunked right away... The first thing I thought of when you said a video game titled "Yeah Yeah Beebiss I" was Beavis from the mtv show Beavis and Butt-Head. Beavis obviously sounds like Beebiss and the second B makes it seem like it could be a type of SKU mashup of their names. Also, Beavis says "Yeah Yeah" so dang much it's almost his catch phrase. Specifically twice in a sequence. THEN... I remembered a video game of them advertised as "MTV's Beavis and Butt-Head: The Game". I never played it but I looked it up. There's not a lot of info I could easily find about it and it says it was released in 1994. But, in the limited description of the game it says that "Beavis and Butt-Head: The Game" are 3 tie in games. But I can't find anything about what 3 games made up the one entire game. It's just the one game released in 1994. The 3 parts could theoretically explain why "Yeah Yeah Beebiss I" has the roman numeral 1 in the title. So What if, now hear me out... The first segment of Beavis and Butt-Head was released under a different title at an earlier time. Possibly a little premature or for a kind of soft launch/ teaser test sort of thing. It is a rather obscure kind of game. And then they had to pull it from the listing because the developer was going to put it and 2 other parts together into one singular game instead of 3 separate ones... Idk maybe this can be instantly discounted but hey, maybe it's a start to a direction no one would have thought of otherwise that leads to something more.

As italian, Let me translate correctly the Kid Icarus Screenshot from Game Power: In about a Year we gonna see re-edition of one of the most funny games appeared on NES (Not one of the best games, its translated wrong), Kid Icarus, The Game is gonna be 24 Megabits, And promise to be one of the biggest titles of the coming year or as Nintendo said. (I removed Mamma beacause it litterally means Mother), For now they got very few wrong games (Refeers from some games in the past that didn't sell well). Sorry if my english is kinda broke.
