Watching while also sharpening D2, im going to take mine to about 800 grt, D2 seems to really like a toothier edge, but I dont want it to toothy so well see how it goes, nice having a partner to sharpen with.

@@roughroosterknifesharpenin5531 yeah definitely I noticed most d2 when I go high it loses performance but when I stay between 600 and 1500 grt they have their best performance. I have had a few that did very well on a higher grt, so it must be from the hrc or ht. But with this knife it definitely felt better when I went a little higher.

Howdy, I was wondering about your reasons for prefering silicon carbide to aluminum oxide stones. You're thoughts on this would be super appreciated. Love the videos they are a fantastic resource when it comes to freehand, thank you for the content.

THIS video was right up the street of where I'm at, now. I needed this....gonna watch it many times....and the length of the video is fine with me.....whatever it takes! Saw another thing you could use....watch out....Santa Claus will hit you on the South American run! LOL! Still haven't received that knife I was telling you about, yet. Hello Chris. If i had some of your stones, i would like to try an edge on a steel like D2(which really benefits from toothy edges) , from a different progression. After finishing with the Crystolon, i would continue with Fine India and then go straight to translucent to get rid of the burr. If you have an oportunity and the mood to follow my idea, please do so and tell us how it went. Thank you.

I can guarantee the edge that's on that knife is beyond sharp. After I whittled with it last night, I realized there was a small burr on one side lol

There are 10 down votes on this video. I have watched the entire video and for the life of me can't figure why someone would dislike it. The only two potential reasons I can think of are you thought the video was to long or you thought a knife of that caliber should have come sharp. I for one think Chris did a great job and appreciate the effort.
