They came in the 94-96 Gm cars and passenger cars and some trucks,the Vettes had a different top end,I have a 96 Impala SS that came with this motor,I still have it,I have seen them make this power but guys fill the block,great motors people ditched them because of the funky distributor under the water pump deal,and the reverse cooling system, these were basically proto types for the 97 LS1s!

@@rocksgsxr750 wrong my friend u can take and run a LS1 ignition on the LT1 5.7! It also had crank sensors,I believe the LS cools the heads first too,I may be wrong on that,but the LS1 in 97 no it's not the LT1 but yes u can run the ignition it! Check out Tick Performances LT1 Camaro build,they set a record with it,not too long ago!

@Paul Wilson read what I said buddy,I said basically not exact! U cant run the LS1 ignition on a traditional sbc,only the 90s LT1s! Its been a while since I ran one of these LT1s ,but I still have one,as well as several LS2s,and a LS3,as well as the traditional sbc!Not a rookie buddy!
@adambrooks22974 жыл бұрын
@Paul Wilson again you can run the ignition on a LS1 on a Lt1,end of story buddy,really who gives a damn dude,get a freaking life already,if u research u will find the only engine that can take the ls2 ignition is the LT1 okay!

Im surprised how quickly you shut off the motor after cooking that turbo!
@rongravel45854 жыл бұрын
It’s not like the old diesels and the new turbos don’t get the center section so hot it cooks the oil when shit down. So there’s no need for a turbo timer like set up to let it cool down. Persision turbos are far more efficient than any turbo from ten years ago or older.

@waynebollentin9894 жыл бұрын
Everything makes power when you add boost lol. That said Steve does a great job with anything. It's not the manufacturer or if it's Ls, LT1, SB, BB, etc. It's the people behind the build like Steve and my boy Disomma that gets great numbers out of engines. Now obviously a stock ls3 is going to make more power than your older stock gen Lt1 because of the heads but once you start adding aftermarket parts things change.
@robholmes21294 жыл бұрын
LT1 is the same as a SBC motor just better cooling,28 lbs of boost will triple any engines power if it can hold the pressure
@cali24684 жыл бұрын
The guys above me make great points, but in an simple explanation there are LS's making a lot more power and BBC is in a category of its own. Still extremely impressive for the old LT.
