Profile:
I started racing in 1964. Computers were still not there. I did hardly no calculation. With the advent of the computer everything has changed and complicated calculations are no problem any more. All old historical notes were struggling. In the past 15 years I got a number of programs. Beside I did developed many programs myself in Excel. It was my profession to do so for my employer for many years.
In 2003 also began making calculations for third parties. Not everything, but a lot can be calculated very accurately for any twostroke engine. For instance the exhaustpipe can be calculated in almost exactly the correct speed for which the setup and cylinder is optimal. Even by a large kart engines manufacturer (TM) was found to be not entirely correct. With a new calculated combustion chamber and exhaustpipe it was far better then before.
This is also partly due to the information I got from Jan Thiel and was freely available after retiring from Aprilia racing end 2007.
Also the UltraSap ignition developed by my son Raimond was a very important part. The combustion and power are strongly influenced. Read about this subject my note on Facebook

In Europa the real dragrsace tracks are also 1/8 and 1/4 mile. But for smal bikes it is to expensive, so it is organised in industrial districts and even in residential like Lisse 1x time a year. So 150 meter is maximum. Max speed with 100cc and NX is about 150km/h in about 5.6 sec. In Japan 50m drag is quit populair.

I used to really like to 50/80cc world championship, they should bring it back, there is something about getting the most out of a small engine that seems more ingenious and have more finesse to it than getting more power by adding cc's or ci's.

That is amazing speed and something I would love to attain. The gearbox you have fascinates me, as there is nothing like that to be had in the United States. All 50cc are mandated by law to be four stroke and not two stroke and I have 4 strokes.

We need races like this here in my America. Sounds like Detonation or lean mixture. Cost 2 seconds off final time. That is one beautiful engine though. Wish I had one. My Respects DSD

The mixture was to rich at the start. There was no detonation at all. Look at the new video's of 2013 when the record was set to 6.66 sec's. The theoretical fastest time is 6.5 secs for this whole set-up, with 1.2G in the first gear.

Ik denk dat je het beoordeeld aan de snelheid van het schakelen, fout dus, want jij weet niet wat voor versnellingsbak erin zit. Goed naar de toeren per minuut luisteren. Ik kan je ook de grafiek laten zien want ook daarop is het achteraf heel nauwkeurig te controleren.
