How boring can the life of an immortal be? Lucifer got tired of reigning in hell, he comes to earth, he has a night club, he does what he wants, he doesn't know the concept of boundaries, and suddenly he meets a detective who pursues only justice, and she is not affected by his mojo. Of course Lucifer will find her interesting, finally something out of the ordinary for him.
@liliaeth10 ай бұрын
Exactly, I love that they don't yet explicitly say why he likes her, because even he doesn't fully get it yet. Lucifer, esp. at this point is very superficial, so what he's going to mention is her looks. Yet at the same time we see him notice her sense of justice, of giving people second chances. On top of her not taking any of his crap, and as you said, she's not affected by his mojo, unlike anyone else. We're not told this in so many words, but it's clear if you pay attention.

One of the things I was pleasantly surprised by with this show is how they handled Linda and her role as a therapist. Yeah there's the supernatural horniness/crossing a line with a patient stuff, but she's honestly one of the better uses/portrayals of a therapist in a longer form narrative I've seen. So frequently they're just obstacles for a main character to get around, but she is actually filling a role of helping Lucifer w some legitimate problems and is also given her own character arc

Some more stuff. After finishing the reaction. Power scale is hard to say because in the comics Lucifer is like 3rd most powerful in the dc universe. But in the show he has standard angel stuff like invoulnarability, super metabolism. its never said but he has a bit of super hearing, like hearing a conversation from across the room or around a street corner. Super strength. And angels get their own special power. Lucifer brings out the desire of someone, Amenadiel slows down time for non celestials to navigate the world without being seen. Lucifer wasn't trapped in hell. Hes visited many times. Kinda like "ooh lots of interesting people are showing up let me see what's been happening up there". Amenadiel is just like "dude get back to work its been 5 years, cant you behave like the rest if us angels." Chloe does have to big chips on her shoulders and once they are taken care of she feels more natural. Doctor linda is great with all her bits

That sucks that you've had so much trouble getting this uploaded, but know that your efforts are appreciated. To your first point about them still talking about millennia-old news, note that Lucifer finds himself changing after a short time on earth, and is fascinated/surprised/exhilarated by it. The inference from that is that angels don't typically change, and if they don't normally change (or at least don't change so long as they're stuck in heaven or hell), then it kind of makes sense they'd still be harping on the same subjects over thousands of years... Some great double entendres in the episode and I love you for it. Can't wait for the next one!

I love the balance of the writing…you get a lot of clever humorous bits but you also get a little darkness plus you get to see how gradually the characters change in the show. You will learn more about the history of the characters as well. Some find it hard to warm up to Chloe because she seems to have only two concerns in life…seeking justice and raising her daughter. She basically has no friends or relationships outside of work and Trixie so it’s fun to watch her change with Lucifer’s influences. I found Chloe more interesting after watching some Lucifer bloopers…Lauren German is a hoot and really shows what she puts into being the serious cop and mom role. Hold onto your hat because you are going to see some awesome character development from every single person on the show. Fun, fun, fun 🤩

Lucifer leaving hell is actually from one of The Sandman books (Niel Gaiman.) TLDR version is he realized everyone in hell was there by choice because they believed they deserved to be there. Everyone including himself, so he decides he's served his time and leaves. The long version is basically the "change" he's experiencing actually started earlier, he began to feel bad for the humans he was punishing, specifically the ones he didn't think deserved to be there. He tried closing down hell and freeing all the tortured souls but they refused to leave, instead begging to be punished. He gives the keys of hell to Morpheus (the sandman) and leaves. This causes some serious trouble for Morpheus because basically everyone wants the keys to hell, except him (which is why Lucifer gave them to him.) This includes Angels from heaven, rouge angels that want the power for themselves, demons and even Morpheus' own siblings (known as the Endless which is kind of the embodiment of the horsemen of the apocalypse, Death, Destruction, etc.) Unfortunately it's been over twenty years so I can't really remember much more of it.

This was one of my favorite shows when it was on. Still have a man crush on Tom Ellis. This iteration of Lucifer is owned by DC Comics, and the show is based on the comics, so somewhere in the literary universe of this show is a large man from Krypton and a guy dressed like a bat. It's an interesting take on "the Devil" and what the role of Lucifer is. Season 1 is a little tropey, but character growth abounds throughout the show as a whole. Chloe will quickly become more than just a pretty face and talk of the movie she was in. Laura German, Chloe's actor, is known to have the dirtiest mind of everyone on the cast, and the cast is very much a family they chose. There's not much I love entertainment-wise more than a cast that truly adore one another.
@Sillydogification10 ай бұрын
Who's dad's favorite? Is the question that dominates sibling rivalries in every large family...At least with humans, the runt of the liter usually survives. Why 5 years ago? Why not? It's revealed in future episodes, that the Devil has dropped in on Earth frequently in the past...It wasn't unusual except this time he stayed... Why now? Because of Delilah perhaps Lucifer hadn't witnessed a brazen crime in front of him like that before (or recently)... The earthly plane of existence is not the normal place for demons and angels - they normally exist on the ethereal plane outside of our normal space/time domain. So an angel can appear in the earthly plane anywhere or anywhen, as needed.... Thats how Amenadiel could come to the stand off when summoned by Lucifer. If time heals all wounds, angels could be wondering around the ethereal plane for eons, and not emotionally heal, because they're not existing in a time domain to have healing? (My Speculation) I tried to be as nonspecific as possible to clarify the situation without spoilers. Also Delilah is a biblical character - she betrayed Samson to the Philistines, which lead to his torture and death...

This show was based on the DC comic. The story of him leaving Hell was in Neil Gaimen's Sandman comic. Basically he was tired of the power struggle in hell and didn't want to have a war with Morphious over a soul he had imprisoned. In Sandman 2 other angels take over hell for god.

Comic book Lucifer is nigh omnipotent, he can do anything imaginable except create matter out of nothing (that's Michael's gift). Comic Lucifer could literally kill pretty much all comic book characters combined vs just him except a very few handful like God (The Precence/The One Above All), maybe the Beyonder ect. He could beat Super Man without lifting a finger, he could outrun the Flash ect comic book Lucifer is pretty much all powerful and all knowing. Comic book Lucifer also looks like David Bowie that's who the artist based him on, and he's very Machiavellian in his personality.

Not sure if this helps, but many other reactors have issues, and it seems they found a recipe that works to avoid being blocked by the copytrolls. That is, if you only show up to 10 minutes of the actual show, and none of the music, you should be fine. Many reactors put a show timer on the screen, which I suppose helps them get the edit down to the right amount. And if there is a particularly important episode, you can split into two videos, each showing a separate 10 minutes of the target show.

No spoilers - at least I honestly don't think so: Why hasn't Amenadile been asking Lucifer to go back to hell for five years? Because God didn't ask him to tell Lucifer that 'request' until now. Why are they just having the discussion about his rebelling ect... only now after millennia? Because angels probably don't like to go to Hell or want to talk to him about anything! He's been alone and ignored since being cast out of heaven. Why after millia has Lucifer suddenly decided to leave Hell and come to Earth? Well... he told us in the first episode that he 'was tired of playing a part in dear old Dad's game' or something like that ( sorry, memory isn't exact.) He's now decided to leave Hell for good ... but does that mean he has never taken a 'vacation' before? I'm surprised he's never experienced the inability to 'control' everything and know what was going to happen if he has been here before - but I suppose that could be because he's been only interested in debauchery and such, maybe? Maybe that's why God sent Amenadile? Or maybe he's just never taken a long enough 'vacation' for humans to effect him? ... Anyway just some thoughts to throw at you. I'm enjoying your reactions! Looking forward to the next. Thanks for the efforts to get them uploaded for us!
