I was in middle school when this happened. No social media but the whole nation heard about it. It was all over the news and on front page of newspapers. Most people didn't believe their story

Yea I don’t believe they did it out of fear or revenge. looks like they just said that in order to get away with their crime, they probably knew their parents were abusive towards other people so it sounds more believable when they say it happened to them.
