I got hit by a van in January, titanium spinal bridge and a knee ligament hanging by a thread. It was my dream to turn 60 and 4 days later win the Bolton Ironman age group. Both you and Reece are an inspiration. Copying your example and making bad things positive. Now I have more time to practice my swimming! Watching you destroy the field in in the 70.3 was my best day of watching Ironman. Can’t wait for your return.

Good luck with the recovery, this video struck a cord with me. An injury from March has hampered my training so much. Unable to remain in aero position on the bike without pain in my hip and was told thete was a muscle tear at the top of my quad. Stupidly attempted to race Cotswold 113 but gave up after 30 minutes on the bike, knowing I'll just make it work. I've now cancelled my remaining races this year knowing if I continue, I'll make myself worse and disappoint myself with my times.

Thank you so much for the continued inspiration! After 20 years of believing the doctors it couldn’t be done I was three weeks out my return to Ironman. My last bike ride went wrong and I am left with two spine fractures. The physical and mental pain is intense, yet I remain committed to making this happen. Your journey is part of the inspiration keeping me believing in the possibility. Blessings

How amazing to have gained all that knowledge around training/nutrition. Would be so cool to have access to that! I think rehab/simple strengthening exercises are so interesting and some are so tough but in a different way to just lifting heavy weight. Your road to recovery is also a road to more future successes ♥️

Absolutely fascinating! Especially the snippets on nutrition. I never realised that when you take in certain foods/supplements can make such a difference. Just thought that as long as you got the stuff inside you and felt OK during training all was well. Clearly not!

You are coming back stronger than ever. Mark your calendar to beat IM world record time at Cozumel at the end of this 2022. Will be the most memorable comeback. Don't you think? Norweigan´s calendar looks saturated, but check them and they have a logic toward specific goals.

You need to check out the program, functional patterns. Traditional strength training Injured you the first time, don’t go back into it! Functional patterns will decompress your body and your joints, and will prevent injuries for the rest of your life.
@jimjamthebananaman12 жыл бұрын
I think it was running that injured her the first time, not strength training. In fact her strength training program probably reduced her risk of her injury for a long time
