Same. It's not just the sheer beauty... The lyrics to this day still catch me off guard; the direction and form that the song ultimately realizes is so perfect, but somehow (to me) completely unexpected. The climax is so cathartic despite the deeply wounded outcome, the swelling strings and lyrics so powerful, yet impossibly vulnerable. And for all the years of precisely devised metaphors, and carefully layered crypticisms (which reaches its peak in parts 1 and 2 of the symphony, both musically and conceptually)... in the end it all falls to a simple, final thought, which is really more of a hope: 'Let's start over again'. And maybe this idea is possible... "Why can't we start it over, again?" But the hope is really a plea: "Just let us start it over again..." followed by a promise ("and we'll be good..."), an added assurance, a possible stutter ("This time we'll get it... we'll get it right"), because it's not clear how such an outcome could be achieved, only that a new beginning is absolutely necessary ("It's our last chance..."), and then the final words that you really don't see coming, but you instantly know were true all along: "...to forgive ourselves". Matt's words stretch out over many beats, sometimes measures, and the vocals glide over the piano, now steadfastly beating out eighth notes, and underlying both of these is the cyclical pattern of sixteenth notes that the drums have locked into--- everything has converged on this point and there's nothing that can stop where it's all headed. But it all leads to a profoundly simple answer, which is really quite a difficult thing to understand (or at least difficult to explain): Why "forgiving ourselves" is the only way to stop what has happened and reverse the tragic unfolding of events that have led to... this. But I know, it's all so vague. What exactly are we talking about here? And that's where I think Matt's truest genius lies: He is speaking on many different levels simultaneously. I count four. Could be five, maybe it's three, but his way of singing purposeful yet somehow unspecific lyrics allows the many threads and multiple realities he's woven to all be present at the same time at the end. They are: The Exogenesis "science fiction" story told in the symphony, the fate of humanity and our world, a hidden story of the loss of love, and finally the personal story all of us bear inside. This has gotten way too long already, so I won't even go into each of them, or defend the question of self-forgiveness as the answer. But if your personal story has involved a tremendous amount of pain and a journey into a despair that seemed could never be escaped or repaired, well, the personal meaning/interpretation of the song will be clear and it will have a massive impact when you hear it, and I mean *really* hear it. From there, the other interpretations are easy to extrapolate. That's probably why, I'm guessing, me and you and others feel like crying at the end of part 3. [Having said all that, the sound quality of this "remaster" is really awful and if anyone streams the Exo Symphony on Tidal and compares the two versions, they'll be shocked.]

@@loganwilbur5131 Thank you for taking the time to write all of this out. Also, please do go into each story- I would love to see what you have to say. Have you seen the animated video that someone has made for part 3? It's always an emotional listen, but the song accompanied with that video really takes it up a notch.

And now in 2024, I can say I was caught by Resistance, and met my best friend in 2022, and visiting him for the second time in my life, now that I am Illuminated and clear and in peace inside. Ready to make some changes in this world. Think I need to shake hands with my music genius at the Gran Prix of Abu Dhabi in 2024. Universe does not play tricks. Anyone listened to Matthew newest solo yet? I can tell his second name is James. Listen carefully to what James sings in “getting away with it all messed up”.
