I think an amazing update to add to the new world is the ability to give priorities for certain trade goods in your colonial nations, which has a chance of changing a province to that, probably modified by terrain. This would also mean a certain trade good costing less or more would be much more important through events, which it was.

I abandoned the half ready colony of the spice ilands, bec i didn't got cloves and when i sent a colonist back (as Spain) get the settler increase. Its a province modifier. Also there's a bug that this modifier doesn't disapear after colonizing it and you can see the modifier until the end of the game.

Was trying this run and discovered that you can use trade cities to create unlimited colonizing vassals (if you have colonists in your ideas, they will instantly grab a nearby province and break out of your trade league, you just need to attack and vassalize them). Currently have eighteen colonists working to expand my empire (at 2 ducats each via subsidies).

I never done the state general reform but this seems like the best options for this run and maybe for some who doesn't like personal unions. So with that you get elections too but you keep your estate so you get both. I started over from my pirate run but this time with normal monarchy. I felt I lost too much money with the republic as you don't have estate to lower your advisor cost. And also I always pick the Army tradition from estate which let me have around 50 army tradition even if i don't go to war often. With my pirate run I had only 20 army tradition sometimes 10 even when going at war often. I'm trying to find any problem with that state general reform but I don't see any, what's worse the rulers I'm getting are super goods. The problem I had with the republic is that the monarch points was getting low if I don't keep them around to get totemist bonus, but with the state general this doesn't seem like a problem, at least not as much.

So still on this state general election reforms, election are great, monarch points are flowing, I wonder if this reforms doesn't beat republic. On the totemist side I'm starting to wonder if the debuff isn't RNG based, if I add my 2 run together I never had so much stability cost rulers, it's like the 20th times I get it, probably 6 times on this run. Either I'm really unlucky with rulers or they did some hidden debuff around rulers. Or maybe it was there all the time but I didn't pay attention.

Reminder to people playing as *not* Ternate or Tidore: if you kill one, kill or vassalize the other ASAP as the AI uses the same mission tree and will go through the same colony boom. Also, if you take a clove producer and have Zanzibar, you can make Zanzibar produce cloves.

By the way if you are lucky colonizing the islands there can be a total of 7 cloves producing provinces in the game. Spicy! (There's a roughly 50% chance of any of them having cloves so the total chance is around 3% but you can improve it by savescumming)

13:37 - in my run this shit is broken. you will lose this bonus after loading the save game. it has to be a ruler who got born being totemist so he can have only one trait and this trait would be specific to totemists. if you don't have a proper icon for the bonus (and you don't. it's just a question mark) it means there will be no bonus after you load your savegame

@@hh8575 You can see in the trade good mapmode. By clicking on an existing cloves province (Tidore or Ternate), any provinces where getting cloves is possible would show up in pink stripes. nearly impossible guide because 9/10 tidore has allies that will destroy your navy+naval invade you, the only way for this guide to work is either having a ton of luck by tidore not having allies, a ton of luck for said allies to not bring their ships, a ton of luck for them to not bring all of their troops to siege you or a ton of luck for their assieging army to have a ton of attrition until you can force your demands after 5 years of occupation and tidore's rebels will have more troops than you and you don't want to take mercs because you will go bankrupt bc of the colony costing you 4 ducats per month

I did it in very hard, them getting 50% land force limit more than me, first try. I think they allied only one nation and their navy was weaker. Maybe you are doing something wrong, no leader on your navy maybe, build some galleys.
