A reminder Luffy can be easily tricked, remember Soiking/Ussop if Kuma wears a mask I doubt Luffy will recognize him in the future without it, and it would make sense for Kuma to disguise himself. The real question is how Kuma will figure out Luffy is Dragon’s son. Dragon never gave away his last name and the two don’t look alike

Is it possible that Kuma met Luffy as a child and recognize that Luffy has Nikas power in him and decided to erase his memories of them meeting in order to protect him a while longer from the World Government until he was ready to take his pirate journey and is it possible he knows Luffy is his friends Dragon's son?

This! That would make for the giant plot hole why Luffy didn't know his fruit was Nika fruit. It has been said that when you eat a Devil Fruit you learn it's name. So I think Luffy actually knew a while as a kid what his fruit was named before Kuma went to protect the secret by making Luffy forget his fruits name. That would mean that either Shanks or Dragon told him to do this because I doubt he would otherwise know about Luffy and Nika.

Luffy forgetting people wouldn't be surprising under any circumstance. But it could be possible that kuma went there after hearing whispers of shanks being on the island and a baby who may be born there. I mean we saw how far the world government went to kill Ace before he was born, it wouldn't be the lowest thing theyd do to ask big hearted kuma to execute someone for sleeping with a pirate.

The more and more I see, the more likely it is that - Kumas gets his personality back, and is going to show up on egghead. - the admiral will betray the military and be freed from his "cog in the machine" mentality - bonny will be with the straw hats after egg head - How Bonny gets her fruit is going to be important.
