Only Lufia 2 and Terranigma endings hit me so hard... For some reason, now while writing this I think the whole saga was about lifting Lufia from her Immortality curse...

@@Xzeros It's led me to believe that in order to create Iris, Erim had to give part of herself over to Goodness. And that gave her a dual nature. That nature found in Iris is what I believe created Lufia. And when the Dual Blade plunged through Lufia, I believe the only person that killed was Erim trapped inside her. The impact forcefully separating the two.

@Xzeros I actually can't recall the ending of Terranigma. I absolutely remember being heartbroken about it, though. Maybe that's why my mind chose to forget everything else.

Lufia II's Ending was the first time I experienced that a video game could make you cry.....and it was such a beautiful experience. Also, it doesn't come off as cheap or edgy, it all made sense and still felt massively satisfying, since....(Warning, Spoiler) . . . . . . . .....their sacrifice made it so that all the other heroes could live on their lifes. A bittersweet victory in the end. Some die, some live, just very realistic.

@@CripplingDuality maybe, but this one (or at least the original Lufia II) would make a pretty amazing TV series. There's waaaay to much story for it to have been anything short of a 3 movie series.

It's amazing- it was such a simple dungeon crawl, yet I still get emotional when listening to this song. A testament to the power of video games as a storytelling medium.

The ability to save Maxim and Selan cheapens the overall plotline not to mention them living would essentially drastically altar the future, making Lufia 1's events quite different.

i'm ok with it. They had the sad ending to this story several times, having at least one reality where they get a happy ending isn't so bad.

this is the most epic theme ever, a fitting theme for maxim's last stand, of course this theme feels me with so many emotions, such as the iron will to move forward,. I wonder if I would sacrifice myself to save mankind like maxim did. tears flow down my face for his bravery and sacrifice. That is the power of this game, the best rpg ever, even greater then final fantasy.

totally agree. The DS remake was like "WTF" but in the end, they still both die and it still made me cry. This game is just too epic even with BS changes to not cry during this scene.

@codemasterda i totally agree with you, though i am an FF fan i must admit that Lufia got by far the best storyline. Back then when i first played Lufia 2 i was still a kid or maybe a wannabe teenager. The music where already awesome back then... and at the end it just destoryed my small little world. First Selen died and then this awesome soundtrack with maxims last will to destroy the Crystals no matter what it takes... nozt to mention the game ending... so sad =(

+Wes Falls I take the remake as a whole new game honestly, because it's too different. It's far from the original game quality, but I had fun completing it. And the music was top notch!

I wish I could win this game and figth with de sinistrals, but I played it already 3 times because I lost my progress 2 times 😧. I'm tired of playing it over and over again and never get to the final part. Also I hate the part when you have to rescue Maxim's son.

@ZaBlueCup I understand that, but if this was that style of game they were going for, they could have done this in a similar look to Final Fantasy Dissidia on the PSP & it would look much smoother, not to mention PSP is a stronger system in general. Only thing the DS has over the PSP is the touch screen. Also, I don't want to shell out the extra money for a DS just for this game alone

@TheNightOwl11683 PSP may be stronger, but it's weak where it counts: User base, which the DS clearly has the bigger customer pool. I understand not wanting to fork over another $100+ for another handheld, especially with the 3DS so close. But it the DS has far more to offer than just Lufia, especially if you're an RPG fan.

@codemasterda Too true, L2 and Terranigma are two pioneers of rpg's for the snes. Both make you think and work towards something and their storylines are so out of the box for their time. It's sad to think the games coming out now are bland and boring compared to a game that came out on the snes. Sure there's afew goodies out but still nothing like the break-throughs of Lufia and Terranigma.

Original Lufia II? Yes Remake, No.(It's a fun game but I don't think it is quite as good as the original. And call me what you will, but the ability to save both Maxim and Selan in the remake takes a bit of the punch out.) But yes the original Lufia II is better than FF.

God this song is so epic, yet I wished they released this for the PSP instead of the DS. PSP is massively superior graphically to the DS
