This was the first RPG i ever played... it was quite depressing that I cried so much and shut the game off... many years later i found out about this... I was so sad lufia didn’t made it... I was like 10 at the time...

I love how "Again and..." plays when Lufia tells you her name.

Lufia 1 didn't have the greatest gameplay, that was Lufia 2's thing. But it did share one thing with its sequel: Heart It might be the first game ever to really nail the deep characterization that would later be hallmarks of the Tales series and even seep into later FF and DQ entries. edit: And just to be clear, the difference between Lufia 1/2 and FF6 is that you wouldn't only understand characters' roles in the story, but also who they are as people. By the end, they truly feel like companions rather than actors.

There are similarities between Tales of Phantasia and Lufia because Neverland was founded by ex-Wolf Team members that got laid off.

When my kid self beat it, I don't think I'd seen the amnesia trope before. Something about it made me weep to sleep for an hour. Seeing it now, I think I should be overwhelmed with happiness? Since they're going to make new memories. But I wonder how I'd react when playing it all the way through again, instead of at release or when seeing the isolated ending now.
