i feel like ending 3 would be better classified as a dead end, since mario can only get one hit on luigi before he goes invincible and takes away mario’s platforms, making it impossible for mario to win and forcing him to lose the fight sooner or later

Shooting bullets out of your bose, now that's talent. The best I could shoot out of my nose was peas when I was 12 17:48 Unlike magic mushrooms making you grow twice as big, flowers giving you the power to generate fireballs out of mid air and mythical creatures that, can probably most resemble the head of a guinea pig known as a Goomba... This part is rooted in reality I guess. If Luigi is stuck in a room, presumably surviving the fall if you let him fall, he cannot fight you if locked in a room laced with explosives

Maybe the hack checks if Luigi fell instead of checking if the pipe is activated and luigi isn't saved.

but it has to also check if he is saved. If it was just about him not falling, then you would get true ending by leaving the room early.

@@Kosmicd12 I’m not sure what’s confusing. There are 3 possible outcomes. It only checks if Luigi is saved or if he falls, not if he’s spawned in. If you beat the level: 1. Standard/no pipe=Bowser fight+bad ending 2. Save Luigi=Bowser fight+good ending 3. Luigi falls=Luigi fight/game over 4. Do not save Luigi/does not fall=Bowser fight+bad ending (same as #1)

@@BradsGonnaPlay theres just no reason to check if he falls at all. It should just check if you collected him or not. That path should only lead to luigi battle, or true ending. Going that path and then getting "But where is Luigi??" should not be possible. And I don't see why any design choice should lead to that being possible.

With the original comment I just wanted to say that the hack could check if luigi has reached the bottom part of the screen (maybe using the code to kill mario when he falls in a pit) and trigger the bad ending, if luigi gets saved it will trigger the good ending but if none of those conditions apply it will just trigger the normal ending. I'm not saying this is the best way to do it, it's just the way i think the hack works.

So you'd think you're just in different ending area and it's checking saved or not. But yeah thinking about it since it's actually just 1-1 pipe, it does make sense to have those 2 flags be what updates the ending
