Super Mario is easily the most widely recognized video game character on the entire planet. While Mario rightfully stands as one of the most important video game characters ever, Super Mario Bros. wouldn't be the game it was if it wasn't for the inclusion of the other character hinted at in the game's title, that of course being Luigi.
While not being quite as adventurous as his shorter sibling, Luigi has appeared in an enormous amount of games over the years, often receiving mixed reactions from other Mushroom Kingdom residents. With some seeing him as a hero and others seeing him as nuisance, which characters have the best relationships with Luigi and which ones have the most toxic?

I love how King Boo’s hatred of Luigi progresses with each Luigi’s Mansion entry. In Luigi’s Mansion, King Boo doesn’t care about Luigi so much as he just wants to get both Mario Brothers. Come Dark Moon, King Boo does seem to want Luigi specifically, but he still doesn’t seem to take Luigi seriously and toys with him until the end. Then come Luigi’s Mansion 3 where he’s in full on rage mode and goes straight for the kill with Luigi and only stops chasing him because he lost him, and from then on is sending his forces to hunt him down. I wonder what he’ll be like in a future Luigi’s Mansion.

Luigi and Daisy are the best Nintendo couple ever. The two secondary characters to their counterparts of Mario and Peach. And honestly I enjoy both of them over their more popular counterparts. The lovable shy Luigi and the outgoing friendly Daisy are just the gest together.

I have nothing against Mario, but Luigi is my most favorite character in the entire franchise! He conquers his fears for the good of his brother, friends, and kingdom and shows little to no envy or anger to Mario. Mario may have the courage, but Luigi has great character. Luigi’s relationship with Daisy may also be because of Mario to quote Matpat, “Mario dates Daisy, tosses her aside and still expects her to play sports with him, and Luigi is Left with the Hand-Me-Downs” so basically Mario introduces Luigi to daisy and they became a couple.

In Luigi's Mansion, in spite of the fact that he's also terrified to be there, Luigi does a great job helping the toads keep their spirits up and keeping them safe. It's kind of touching IMO. Even more touching is when he starts happy-crying at the end after he rescues Mario.

I’ve been waiting for that video for a long time! Btw, for Mario’s relationship with his twin, you forgot to say that in some games, he’s protective to him. Do you remember how Fox McCloud panicked when Slippy Toad got taken down by Spyborg in Star Fox 64? Well, in the M&L series, Mario seems to panic the same way, by screaming his brother’s name and protecting him when it’s the enemy’s turn. Still in the same series, Mario and Luigi sometimes rescue each other whenever they’re in trouble and they hugged when they’re reunited. In the beginning of Kingdom Battle, when the vortex started to suck up everyone, Mario tried to save his brother twice! Plus, when Mario, Rabbid Luigi and Rabbid Peach hear Luigi screaming his name, guess who’s the very first one to worrry about the green plumber? Yup, Mario! If we add a hug and Mario being so happy to be reunited his younger brother that he starts to cry, it’ll be perfect!

I'd say I have a toxic relationship with my boss. It's so unhealthy, l retreat pretty much _whenever_ l see her coming my way. I even take the long way through the building just to avoid her. She is strict, firm, and _freakingly_ opinioned. She was upset when I had signed up for a shift where there was nobody there to work with me. I'll admit, I am much better with a helping hand and guide, and that I'm kind of a slow learner, but come on, that's no excuse for how direct and condescending she was. One of our student leader's responsibilities is organizing who works which shifts on the schedule, and my boss scolded him for not noticing I had signed up for a one-person shift. When she asked him if she thought I could do the shift, I answered for him with a firm "yes," because I could sense condescension coming from her. She said she didn't think so, was all "I've told you not to sign up for shifts by yourself, I've been very clear about that" (something like, that, so I'm not perfectly quoting her), and she told me I need someone there to give me instructions and guide me. Yeah, she was indicating I was helpless and she had no faith in me. I'm mad at myself for not standing up to her. She intimidates me when she's in a bad mood, but still, at the very least, I should've told her "my family always taught me to be self-confident and believe in my abilities," to challenge her to coldly disagree with that. What kind of person would be THAT cruel?

The best Super Mario duo is with Luigi, and Yoshi together as close friends. I know y'all still think that Mario, and Luigi dropping Yoshi in pits is part of their personality, but I disagree with that. It's the players choice to do so, and the programming of the games is not so you have to drop Yoshi to complete a level, which shouldn't be counted on their morality. Also Luigi, and Daisy by far is a way better Super Mario ship than Mario, and Princess Peach because they don't have to strain into saving the other from being kidnapped so many times.💚💙🦖🌼
