Listened to your video today, just after receiving my blood test reports which showed normal HDL and an abnormal LDL. I am on statins and that's the reason for the normal report. However, I suffer from various auto immune diseases which I'm told are caused due to inflammation.

My doctor just put me on a low statin 5mg to see how I handle it. My vitamin D is pretty low which IM sure is contributing to my cholesterol. I have asked my dr to prescribe be a high dosage vitamin D for now to achieve optimal levels and then go on a low dosage vitamin D. I have yet to hear from my drs feedback yet on the correlation between vitamin D and cholesterol. Thanks for the knowledge and lifestyle changes you communicate in your video!

Hi Luke, what you explain the situation where LDL is high ( 4.9 mmol/ L), low Tg (0.7 mmol/ L) good HDL ( 1.6 mmol/ L) with low vit D ( nmol/L)? If cholesterol is linked to making Vit D, how do you interpret low vit D with high cholesterol? Could bile salts play a role? How do you fix that? Thank you 🙏 from Australia

Thank you so much for this well explained, valuable information. In terms of communication, may I suggest you work on the way you pronounce "th ". Death should not sound like debt, and breathe should not sound like breed. Also "without failing" is two negatives making a positive. The only reason I point this out is because you are otherwise extremely articulate and cogent. Forgive me if I sound unnecessarily critical.

Hi Luke, “Total cholesterol is what all doctors look at today and if it’s over range they put you on a statin..” I think that is being terribly stereotypical, as doctors do look at the entire lipid profile, patient history and examination, as well as family history before prescribing anything - be it the first line lifestyle changes, or failing that, medication. Also, with regards to doctors not looking at VLDL (small LDL) it isn’t routinely measured as I believe it is a more complex biochemical test, but it can be estimated based on the triglyceride levels. I think your mission to spread health awareness is AMAZING, we definitely need it in our current times but it can also be done without looking down at the medical professionals. You hold a lot of sway with the community being so well loved, so perhaps in future videos you may choose your words a little more wisely ... :)

I just caved to a craving that lead to about 5 soda cracker sandwiches with hydrogenated peanut butter, honey that I think might not be un pasteurized, cinnamon & ginger powder, followed by 2 sugar donuts and 2 mini sized hostess brownie cakes. Smh. What’s the best thing for me todo afterwards, when this happens? Do I dry fast for the rest of the day and start again tomorrow morning by drinking water? Or do I wait till sometime later to have water or maybe a tea. I want to turn from these cravings.
