+Arthur Serino George Lucas didn't make the props, the art department did. The first Star Wars movie also had a very limited budget and wasn't expected to do well, so they used what they could find. These are a lot more inspired than the sabers they cast for the prequels.

Dude, very nice build. I remember when I put together my first graflex lightsaber (I opted for the anh varient cuz that's my favorite lightsaber design) it was so much fun putting it together, and the end product was so rewarding that I'm thinking of making mine like my family heirloom or something when I have children and pass on. Anyway I'm rambling, love the video and love the lightsaber build its very impressive

You should totally send that away to get a sound install done on it. You got that thing for next to no price, and its a thousand dollar piece. You can very easily afford to send that off and get a custom sound install on it. Even if you dont intend on putting a blade in it ever, that would be the ultimate shelf queen if it was able to light up and make sounds.

@The4Tifier8 жыл бұрын
Pyro Films It's actually gone up to about $1000 USD average for just a Graflex. That's not even including shipping. The raised price is because not only is it an old piece of technology which is no longer produced (and with some handy work like what you showed in this video, an authentic movie replica from Star Wars), the recent Star Wars films have increased the demand for them.
@mexicanakinskywalker67626 жыл бұрын
Beautiful saber. Just fyi if you care, i have heard that the one used in the movie had the beer tab removed. There was just a hole there. Dont know why it was removed but apparently it was. Just letting you know if you want to look into it to possibly make it more screen accurate? Beautiful though ( :

the grips were drilled and the set screws applied to the esb saber because the grips kept falling off...

I dont know if it was just me but it seemed the video skipped over the button and d ring attachment segment. I was curious about how the second button went on never having been able to find a graflex in my area
@pyrofilms73209 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately most of that footage was shot on a memory card that got corrupted, the second button was a replica that I got. Mine had no threads to screw on so I had to glue it.

Wrong. They’re T tracks. The idea that they’re windshield wipers is a myth.
@tylerconner82068 жыл бұрын
Only thing you didn't do was take off the beer tab like they did on the actual esb prop. I'm pretty sure you would have to sand it off though to do that anyway though. Other than that this is a sick looking graflex and it's even better that you didn't damage anything to make it!
@pyrofilms73208 жыл бұрын
Yes, it isn't accurate but I didn't want to damage the graflex.

Two things, need to remove the "beer tab" on the top button that keeps it free swinging when the button is unscrewed. Not on the movie version. Second, where did you get the mylar tape from and what size is needed for the correct movie accuracy?
@pyrofilms73208 жыл бұрын
I know the beer tab is supposed to come off, but I didn't want to damage any part of the graflex in case I want to eventually convert it to ANH version. I believe the Mylar tape was from custom saber shop.
