The very first fight I remember seeing was Muhammad Ali Vs Henry Cooper 2 ; way back in 1966 Since then I've completely lost count of how many fighters and fights I've seen, but it's a Lot of fighters, a Lot of Champions in a Lot of eras. But in my opinion, Naoya Inoue is The Best All Round Fighter I have EVER seen.

I think Inoue is one of the only fighters that keeps his foot on the inside of southpaw fighters & still be able to be in position to land punches
@romii7152 ай бұрын
he did it against Payano
@lncarpenter32 ай бұрын
Yeah, because of the position of his other foot establishes the angle of his line. It works because he expects the other fighter to be moving out and away. If he fought someone more willing to go to war, he'd have to eat shots or make an adjustment. I think he wants to entertain fans, and fighting southpaw boxers who only engage with a lead foot advantage, take sniper shots, then get back on their horse is boring for the average fan. It is also frustrating for inoue, who counts on engagements and exchanges to beat guys up. So, in a sense, granting Doheny the "victory" or lead foot position is an encouragement to engage and/or exchange, rather than reset and move out or away.

The southpaw stance, with his center of gravity shifted back to avoid blows to the face, inevitably exposed Doheny to right body shots, which landed multiple times, suggesting damage was accumulating. His body was too wide to guard against.

There's something really remarkable about this fight. Upon its first viewing, it is rather underwhelming. But on scrutiny and repeated viewing to break it down, you being to see the sheer artistry involved. From "data collection" in the initial rounds, to the fury of the sixth round which actually set the TKO of the seven, you will find a methodic and ruthless and a purveyor of boxing science in the bout. This amazing video actually captures very well the process what I was talking about. In time, I guess more people will see the bout as a artistry in the fine art of boxing!

Inoue is preparing himself for 126 division. I think he picked Doheny on purpose because he knew Doheny rehydrates massively, close to the guys at 126. Inoue also rehydrated more than usual just to see how his speed transitions with that weight.

@adrianho88052 ай бұрын
In all of the fights I've seen, Inoue does not play dirty. He definitely was not aiming for the back. Doheny turned his back (a bit like Philly shell, Ryan Garcia) to avoid a direct straight to his chin or solar plexus body. At the same time Inoue swung his left hook to aim the liver but hit Doheny's back instead because of his avoiding twist. Whatever the case, the rule of thumb in boxing is "protect yourself at all times". To put it straight, Doheny's body had taken so many body shots throughout the rounds that it was a matter of time, he would have collapsed from one of those shots.
You break down inoue’s film how he bait his opponent for his target or force his opponent off position. But you haven’t mentioned anything about him track himself at the corner or rope for his opponent.😂
