H4 had the ROB and Falcon experience from Oregon (Domnique, Biggymouth for ROB and Spade for Falcon respectively), and had the Toon Link and Mario experience from WA (JoJoDaHoBo for Toon Link and Ludo for Mario). Not saying PNW is anywhere close to how good Japan is, (don't get me wrong of course I think we're solid but Japan is quite literally a different beast), but we gave H4 the tools and experience he needed to succeed, and succeed he did. Miss that guy, hope he's kicking just as much ass in Triathlon training as he did with Smash.

I met him at a Smash local last month (so that's September at the time of writing this), and from what I remember, he's doing just fine. :3

The worst part is that I remembered that H4 won a notable Japanese smash tournament. I just assumed it wasn't that much of a big deal because no made a big deal out of it. But yeah, H4 was a really good player. That's for sure.

I've never forgotten. A player from the US (and afaik no US player had won a tournament in Japan yet), playing Pikachu, a character that is basically non-existent in Japan and is often forgotten in their tier lists, winning out of the blue. It's always been so funny to me.

@@XxYusseffxX Hola, seguro 😄 básicamente, tienes que quitar tus manos de la repisa seleccionando la dirección opuesta a donde estás colgando, y lo más rápido posible, ejecutar un salto de pared después. Funcionará si tu personaje hace el salto de pared lo suficientemente rápido, y también si la etapa lo permite, si no me equivoco. Si los mensajes no suena claro, todavía se puede encontrar videos recientes que explican cómo hacerlo, el KZbinr Esam han hecho un video sobre, para ejemplo 😊. Esta tecnología es conocida como "salto de pared instantánea". Espero que podría ayudarle.

What's interesting is that I don't believe Japan has any top Pikachu reps, and I'm pretty sure the country doesn't think PIka is top-tier like we do in the west, so H4's win is an especially cool accomplishment
