Whew, this was a powerful conversation. Lupita always drops some gems when she feels comfortable to open up; but this space allowed her to touch on many issues. I loved this dialogue between Adelle and Lupita. It was very special and necessary. As a Black American Midwesterner, the topics showed me even more the blood ties that we across the diaspora share. I know many within our individual groups believe that we are so separate; but no, a lot of the ways that we function are ancestral and have travelled across the world with us (consciously and subconsciously).
