Ive watched every single episode of this pod on YT and Ive gotta say that this was my favorite episode thus far. The Luton Town story is nothing short of incredible and Tom seems like an absolute top bloke, Im sure we all wish him continued good health and an eventual return to football. Personally I hope to see guests come on the pod more frequently going forward. Keep up the great work lads!

So fcuking proud. What a journey. I was at Wembley in 1988 when we beat Arsenal in the cup final. Was at Wembley in May. And like every other Luton fan…I am still pinching myself. Astonishing story. Love our super captain Tom Lockyer. He’s a huge miss. We’ve got serious injury problems especially in defence but we are still looking good for Premier League survival. The story is still being written.

Rob Edwards what a great job he has done at Luton,I believe should if Luton stay up he should be Manager Of The Season, more importantly he seems to be a classy human being too 👍👍👏👏

We only recruit people who will fit into our club. No egos. Hard work and an humble attitude comes before the usual player stats that other clubs focus on. Our leaders (Gary Sweet and David Wilkinson) deserve so much credit. They took over when we had been relegated to the non-league after the 30 points deduction. We almost went out of business. In the 2013/14 season Braintree did the double over us. Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu had just joined. This must be the greatest story in football. We’ve achieved it all without a wealthy owner. Our budget last season in the Championship was the lowest in the league. Half of League One clubs had a bigger budget than us. There are so many sub plots too. Super Robbie Edwards being sacked by watfud after telling him that he’d be given time “Come hell or high water”. Twelve games later they sack him. Without our hated rivals watfud we’d not have won promotion. watfud fans are devastated. And jealous.

tom should definitely be in the running for pundit after he retires, whether that be now or later!

Absolutely! Adversely has the potential to lead to something you were absolutely meant to do. There are obviously going to be many more (and more known) examples, but the one the immediately jumped out at me was Eddie Howe. Forced to retire extremely young and eventually led a Bournemouth side (who could have easily gone the same way as clubs such as Bury) to the Premier League. Tom is extremely well spoken, seems very grounded and if this interview is anything to go by, could absolutely become a mainstay fixture in footballing media

Hope that’s not Tommy Robinson!!! We’ve got serious injury problems in defence so to still be in touching distance of safety is astonishing. We need Marv and Elijah (he’s magic you know) back fast too. Did you know that every club in the Premier League have spent more money on a single player last summer than we have spent in our entire 140 year history? And our record signing Ryan Giles has been a rare failure. So proud. Our story is still being written mate. Survival this season and a cup final victory next season will be the icing…

This episode made me almost cry a few times (the same as the day of the game). What a lovely guy you are Tom. The fact that you can turn such a grim situation into humour and make people laugh just shows what a great person and character you are. I'm glad you are feeling better and okay and even if you don't get to play again, I think you will be a great Dad and your family are lucky to have you. ❤

As another heart survivor, although it happened to me at 49, you make the most of what you’ve got. It may not be playing for Tom but I hope he gets looked after by his club and maybe there’s a career in football waiting for him, just not on the pitch. Best of luck Tom.

Tom perfectly sums up what Luton are all about, they're a team far better than the sum of the parts. And the club, without doubt, has the best ownership model not only in the premiership but all 5 professional leagues. We don't want any dirty Arab/Russian money in our club, we'll do it our way. The honest way.

Our recruitment team choose players on the usual stats but we also take into account the character of prospective players. Humble is the word we keep hearing. No big egos at Luton mate. Although Nathan ‘Judas’ Jones who left us twice mid season has a massive ego. He still believes that he made Luton! But we made him.

Lost touch with Luton over the years but it's been great to see them back and putting on a great show considering what they've spent. I think most neutrals would love to see them stay up, it's a nice change to see a team do it without spending huge amounts. COYH

Love the podcast listen to all the eps, but this was is my favourite of the lot. Like Tom, I have a loop recorder fitted that monitors my heart so I can relate to his story, despite my heart condition being far less serious than his. I found out about my condition after covid and have subsequently been suffering from long covid for over three years. I’m a massive Macclesfield FC fan so if you ever want to cover non league I’d be happy to share some insights to lower league football and long covid, both of which don’t get as much media exposure they should. Keep up the great work guys 👍
