YES!! The arcade used to be where the Bodies exhibit is now, and the Titanic exhibit used to be an IMAX theater. Also, the motion rides you mentioned were where the Blue Man Group theater is now. Lots of great live entertainment options there!

This was another enjoyable tour, Dani. I'm glad that they're still keeping a lot of the Ancient Egypt theme for now, since I think the themed resorts are a major reason why the Strip is so much fun for me.

Thanks for posting! I was hoping Dani would do a tour of this particular hotel for her channel, and I'm glad she did. The replicated designs of that pyramid, sphinx and monument is fascinating to me since I use to want to visit Egypt to see the pyramids and sphinx in-person. Those are 2 of my 4 favorite world landmarks.

I loved the Luxor video! I have so many fond memories of the first time I stayed there in 1995. Here are a few things to help jog your memory... - The current buffet location used to be a recreation of King Tut's tomb (which was moved to the Las Vegas Natural History Museum) There was also an Egyptian themed dinner show with horses, chariots, and battles (similar to the Tournament of Kings at Excalibur). - The buffet used to be located up where the food court is now. - I believe the talking camels used to by by the pools at the casino entrance by the main lobby. - There used to be a small mall of shops where the meeting rooms are now. - The original nightclub was called RA - The atrium used to hold "Secrets of the Luxor Pyramid Trilogy", which included the motion ride "Search for the Obelisk" where the Blue Man Group show is currently, "Luxor Live", a simulated live talk show located in the Fantasy Showroom, and "Theater of Time, on a giant screen located where the Titanic exhibit is currently. - I think you're right, there was an arcade where the Bodies exhibit is. - Before the monorail, there used to be a laser show in front of the Sphinx, projected onto a screen of water/mist. - I remember the boat ride, but can't figure out quite where it used to be, I always try to find it whenever I'm at Luxor! :) FYI, I found an original map and show schedule from MGM Grand Adventure theme park! I also have a pamphlet from Grand Slam Canyon over at Circus Circus, both from 1995. Let me know if you'd like to see them!

I love the Luxor. This was the first resort I stayed in during my very first trip to Vegas. The grand reveal of the lobby when you enter is what hooked me. Plus the incense aroma that at the time was present, not sure if it still is, also set the mood. When I get a whiff of a similar scent I get transported back to the Luxor and memories come flooding back. We stayed in the pyramid rooms and they were nice and clean and spacious due to the slant of the wall. Only downside was the blinds didn't really stop the light, again because of the slant. I love the elevators in the Luxor because the move diagonally upwards versus vertical so that might be why you felt discombobulated. Great video!

The Luxor was our go to resort when they first opened, the talking camels were stationed at the inside of the entrance as soon as you walked thru from the valet, we took the the Nile river ride which really wasn't a big deal, I think they put it in for the kids back when Vegas was kid friendly, if you stay there, the rooms in the towers are bigger then the pyramid rooms, great video Dani

If you were staying in the tower, the elevator was actually something called an inclinator, which I agree us a bit iffy, since it actually goes up at an angle. I do love Luxor, though!

Great video. Luxor is so cool. As a kid I never went that far up the strip but something about the Egyptian theming keeps me going back. If you book the elite suite in the pyramid, see a show, play the tables, use the spa, and not wanting to venture too much, I think it’s a great hotel. Also having 3 Starbucks options is great. Most people forget the food court one is open so the line on the morning is usually shorter!

I was there for their soft open back in oct 93 ( my honeymoon ) the nile was around the casino perimeter ...i remember you had a few stairs down into the casino. the upstairs had their arcade, their buffet, their gift shop/rewards exchange ( still have the coffee cups ) and their high end steak house/restaurant ...in the center of the casino was their "higher roller " pit..lol. it was a fun place thats for sure. I was totally blown away how amazing the details of the luxor ....I loved walking over to Excalibur and try your luck to remove the sword from that rock and win i believe a car...good old days!

Never stayed at the Luxor - I do like the property - it has a fun atmosphere and is budget friendly. Just too far south on the strip for us considering we only make it once or twice a year. Chris Angel moved to Planet Hollywood in 2019 - his show there is pretty exciting, we watched it over the summer. Thanks for the great review and content!

Nice overview review Dani. I wish you would have stayed there, and did a room tour and visited their restaurants. Luxor is a fantastic value, other than Excalibur its the cheapest price MGM property. It is kind of far end of the strip but the tram to Excalibur gets you a head start down the strip.

I saw the "Bodies" and "Titanic" exhibits when it was at the Trop. Both are great exhibits but the co-mingling of them really makes for an unfortunate combo. I would have thought after all these years, someone would have caught on to that bit of marketing. My wife did stay there back in 2010 or so, and said the rooms were drab and definitely needed a remodel.

The Luxor is definitely the most iconic, theme hotel on the Las Vegas strip. But rumors of it potentially being demolished are still being floated around. I certainly hope that it is not true. Maybe it's just me, but the casinos used to have so many slots, but now the slots are huge and they space them further apart. It makes the casinos seem a bit empty at times. I've stayed at the Luxor a bunch because they keep giving me the best combination of free nights when I want to head to Vegas, but the rooms are VERY hit and miss. Depending on the direction the room faces in the pyramid, the room will likely never cool down enough. Many of the corner rooms are still original and very outdated and others just have plumbing issues as I found out my last visit while talking with others. The walkways to the Excalibur are almost never running when I am there either. Still probably headed there next March though for WPPI as they keep offering me free tower premier rooms. (more than welcome to do a video if you guys desire)
