The answer is simple. If i can get away with nonsense, then i'll continue. Consumers are willing to pay full price for low quality, so why not?
@auroralaura34968 ай бұрын
Correct, there is no quality anymore, just marketing. Most sad.
@justesaw68018 ай бұрын
I personally prefer vintage items , the quality was / is so much better than a lot of the newer stuff that lasts less than half the lifespan of the older stuff

I feel like Burberry is the perfect example - for their revamp, instead of improving quality/design, they chose not have sales (coping LV) hire Bella Hadid & Cara Delevigne, while maintaining status quo 😅 - no wonder their stock is at an all time low
@janejdough22308 ай бұрын
EXACTLY! I am old and wear a classic Burberry trench decades old and in pristine shape and continually get compliments. I have a Burberry tote that is at least 10 years old ( or older). It is fine, got a hat two years ago and it is trash. Looked at their racks of " fashions" and they all looked like they were made in china. WHY th TB all over their stuff? Who is TB and why is it there? So disappointed . Instead of a classy country look it has turned into a city trashy look.

Agreed their styles have gone trashy and will admit too basic

My husband had a suit made for him which cost $1000 total and came with 3 shirts and 3 ties. That is what luxury should be, bespoke garments which are high quality.

That's why I always recommend buying from small, local businesses. And I mean small businesses (with less that e.g. 10 employees) where the people work hard to make a living, not factories.

Guess brand is a good example of this. I remember when it was big in early 2000s and they would sell jeans and bags that would break easily with ridiculous prices at the time.

That’s why I love mid-range brands- hate fleshy logos but love quality. If I find it second hand it is even better or from a local brand.

Viscose and Rayon are exactly the same thing. It‘s a semi-synthetic fibre (synthetically treated natural fibre).
@shinnam8 ай бұрын
Please refuse to by rayon, viscose or any polyester. They all shed microfibers. Rayon and viscose are green washed but the adhesives uses to glue together the fibers is petroleum based.😢

I hate polyester or any plastic made clothing! It smells overtime, i dont like the smell when I stay in the sun, and its not breathable who invented plastic clothing?? And they sell this plastics for a high price? . I made a decision this year to change my clothes to linen, cashmere, cotton and silk. Anything with polyester or shell goes to trash.

love the video , and yes luxury vintage is way better than current luxury brands quality

I feel like using Coach as an example for what your saying is wrong, as while they are a high end brand, they are also often a decimal point less than a lot of other luxury, while being the same if not better quality.

My goal is to own more property and dress really basic, Uniqlo fashion. Luxury fashion feels like a compensation prize for a system where young people can't afford to own property. It's easier to own a 3K bag than a house.

I'm not sure if luxury-sceptic and sometimes just luxury KZbinrs are using the correct terminology when discussing big fashion business strategies behind their pricing decisions. Pricing is communication however communication is not limited to marketing and advertising alone. It requires a deeper understanding of Positioning. Market Positioning is absolutely specific - a business, any business cannot put a foot wrong - it is the difference between boom and bust/here one day and gone the next. A noticeable Position in the market is ludicrously expensive to achieve let alone maintain. Most, if not all luxury "fashion houses" (fancy rag traders), are up to their eyeballs in debt. It's why Balenciaga will not go away...shareholders of mega corporations like PPR/Kering want RETURNS. The message in this video hits the nail on the head... it's up to the consumer to change the market. Buy something different from smaller businesses. Love this channel ❤

What is unjustified are high priced diffusion range of the luxury brands designed to be fast fashion.

Buy a nice quality custom item, much better than brand names. Buy small quantity, but high quality.

Its so funny that what we call mid range brands today have the same price point as the so called high end “luxury” brands a few years back haha It’s all marketing
@w.urlitzer18694 ай бұрын
low quality/high prices. does not make sense. you're paying for the excessive returns to shareholders/owners.
@ZGreenGaming8 ай бұрын
Well we can argue and talk for days about does cheaper stuff last longer or not but i my self have stuff that i bought in cheaper no name shops and even after many uses and cca 6 years stuff still can be used … it maybe isn’t like new but still is nice… and high end is so bad today that is ridiculous….

Now Versace is doing a sample sale and honestly it looks like you are being cheap clothes from a garage sale… you should do a video on this topic because for me it’s such a sale that such a nice brand with history is doing this types of things .. when it’s degrading the brand and its value … luxury is not what it used too be sadly. I remember those cat walks in the 90s when models would model for Versace and in that time it was very exclusive .. now anyone can own Versace through sample sales!

WHY? BECAUSE OF THE FOOLISH ONES THAT THINK WAY TOO HIGHLY OF THEMSELVES TO BEGIN WITH. EVERY SEE THEM POSING? TOO INFLATED! AND ALSO, THE FACT THAT THE BRANDS CAN GET AWAY WITH IT, JUST LOOK AT HERMES!
@aBirdAndHisBoy8 ай бұрын
Disagree. Hermès is the ONLY luxury brand truly worth the money since they're the only brand to double hand-stitch their bags.
@knepri8 ай бұрын
If you order an artisan craftsman to make you a double stitched hand bag from premium leather. And shaped like a Hermes bag ... it will still only cost you a few thousand maximum. Probably a thousand max. So yes, Hermes also rips people off. They just do it at a much smaller mark up than Chanel or Gucci.
