I love it so much when the boats win.. I also love it so much when haulover wins. Lol. Temp with windchill here in saskatchewan Canada is forecast for -39C for tomorrow morning. So knowing Florida, and loving boats, it is the high point of my day when you post. I’m subscribed to all your channels and work comes to a halt for a few minutes, when I’m notified of a new vid. Keep them coming, I’m paid by the hour, and need some hilarity in my day.

I went back a ways and, every time you show the very first boat successfully navigating the inlet, it doesn't count towards the competition. However, on several occasions, when one fails, it is round one. Why is that? Are you biast against the boats? Is the inlet paying you off? Did you make a deal with the Neptune so you never bow stuff when you go out?

Round 1: I respect the no-stuffing rule, but think this one deserves an exception. If skipper had gotten it up on plane then they would have taken a pounding, rather than lots of rolling as they did. And since it's a closed bow, it shed the water over the bow easily. Round 2: too small of a craft for conditions. Maybe if he could have trimmed the engines out to get the bow up he could have pulled it off, but going out at all was the cardinal sin. Round 4: once you get that big, Haulover doesn't stand a chance. Skill of the skipper is almost irrelevant.

Sorry but I don't get the competition angle. Maybe the hull is doing what hulls are supposed to do, at displacement speed most hulls are at their most seaworthy, a little water over the bow means zip. In serious conditions no boat can plane for long and water over the bow is a fact of life. The conditions shown here are normal any where in the world for any inner body of water flowing into the sea as the tide goes out.
