Hi Joe I have seen a couple of videos on Portland and in both my curiosity is always drawn to all those sheds down on the beach but no one ever mentions what there about is it some kind of guilty secret is smuggling still going on??

Ha ha that would be a brilliant story if it were true. They are actually beach huts. A friend of mine used to own one of them. I love the way the large pebbles have been used to create front gardens for them all. In fairness though if one or more of these were still used by smugglers I'd be none the wiser so perhaps you could be right 😉

@@JoeCoastal I thought Beer was along the path, so I will probably find it 😊 We do take an extra night here and there, so I'll keep Beer in mind. This summer we revisited a few places we already have been to and loved. Zennor, Sennen and The Isles of Scilly. And we did some inland and coastal walks at all the three places. I am not too happy with all of the video files, partly due to a lot of noise here and there on many of the files. I will have to replace a lot of noise with other sounds where it is possible. Just a lot of extra work 🙄😊 But I should start soon. 😊

@TravellingTorunn Zennor and Sennon I've not been to for many years and he isles of scilly I've never been to so I look forward to seeing those videos. I don't think people realise how long the editing takes. Especially when something isn't quite right. I was in cornwall a couple of weeks ago (Beer is in Devon but was the same trip) spent ages getting loads of footage with the new drone, only to find the files wouldn't upload to my editing program. 🤷 I had to convert them all one by one, losing some quality in the process so not entirely happy with this video. Could have been so much better. HD rather than 4K but at least it's out there and not stuck on my computer frustrating me.

The Fleet lagoon starts in Portland not Weymouth !
@JoeCoastal
@JoeCoastal 3 ай бұрын
The fleet reaches the sea at Ferrybridge which according to Google maps is a weymouth postcode. The sign that says welcome to Portland comes just after Ferrybridge. Arguably one side of the Fleet is in Weymouth and the other is in Portland.

Never stayed at that site but always thought it looked like a good one. Certainly ideally placed on such a beautiful little harbour.

@@JoeCoastal it's right by the harbour and a public footpath goes right through the park ,in fact it went right past the lodge we were in and goes through to Bridport. Really nice easy stroll. Will definitely go again sometime 👍

@paulshorney3465 don't blame you. I have some great memories there from years ago myself. Don't know if they still do it but I loved the trawler race. Such a fun event.

@@JoeCoastal not sure about the trawler race. But when I used to go with my family as a lad,me and my sister always had a cheeseburger from a food stall called the tea caddy. Think I was about 15 last time we were there. When I went with my wife last year (now 57) we went for chips by the harbour and the tea caddy was still there! Original one? Not sure but I was a bit teary eyed to see it! Lol. Ah happy innocent days👍👍

@paulshorney3465 8 think that's the one that used to sell the biggest burgers you've ever seen. Called them west bay whoppers until burger King threatened to sue them.

Then you know only too well the importance of what they do. I think though, too many of us walk into a beautiful place with a national Trust sign telling you where you are and don't realise how lucky we are to be there.

Thanks Jon. I'm sure you'll enjoy Lyme. One of my favourite places. As you can see the golden cap is well worth a visit but it is quite a climb so make sure you're feeling fit if you're going up. Thanks again.

Hi joe, I was wondering where you have been.😂 What a incredible view from the top. And amazing scenery along the way. It really is nice to see what so many people don't appreciate. And nice to how clean people are keeping it also. We really do have such a beautiful coast and so so much to see. Thanks Joe.👍

Hi Rob. Hope you're well. It's been a busy few months for me. I planned a number of days out but never quite found the time to do them. I'm starting on the editing of my next video tomorrow and there's another couple planned for very soon so this isn't just a flash in the pan. I think We are all guilty of taking it for granted to an extent so just a little reminder to folk which I hopefully put across in an interesting and educational way. Thanks again Rob.
