GET RID OF IT ALL! EXTREME PANTRY DECLUTTER & ORGANIZE

A couple weeks ago, I was at AtHome looking at the clear containers. The OXO were way too expensive for me, but they had a set of clears with fitted lids, almost like OXO, so I was able to get the look for quite a bit less. A hint for pasta and items that were decanted and have specific cooking times, cut out the minimum cooking directions and tape it under the lid of the clear container. You’ve reminded me of a phrase my mom often used, “where you were, is not who you are”

I use chalk labels to write expiration dates on, and I cut the directions off of boxes and put them inside my canisters with the directions facing out.

I just came across your channel I never came across anyone like you in a Organization video thank sharing your lil background story about yourself your right I grew having nothing as a kid just want on our back we moved to California living with our grandparents while my dad trying get back on his feet even we had roof over our head food, bills were paid it was home we didn’t have much tell I grew up moved out I can relate to you being on public housing back then it was cheap rent I lived in a place for a long! Time older place for almost 9 yrs before I moved to my new 5 mos ago being on Public Halsey in a brand-new apartment that accepts public housing assistance I am so grateful the hell the support to be here every day I am grateful yes your right it’s a blessing be grateful what I have when I moved I had to give up so much stuff to D clutter eliminated a lot of things when I moved to my new property I don’t have much to work with but thankful I saved all my organizations from the dollar tree when they were just say dollar all my baskets bins you name it did I use to organize my home around my space I might not have a dream home but I use what I have make it functional organize even if I’m just on a budget thank you for sharing this video about your your background of a your organization tips helping one another I love organizing myself it’s funny because before I came across your video I had just re-organize my DIY pantry and office station yesterday that I’ve been doing little around my home thank you for sharing this video

I wish I could get these bins at Dollar Tree but our store sucks! But once in a while I’ll see something that will help. Yes! No matter the size of your living space you have to make the most of it! We started out in an 8x35 travel trailer and through the years we’ve been able to slowly improve on our living arrangements. We are now retired and we live in the house where we raised our 4 kids. It’s a small ranch style house that we’ve made improvements to as we could afford to. But we love it and it’s paid for! I’m now in the process of purging and organizing and loving it! Thank you for all your tips!

I ended up putting all my spices in glass jars with metal lids. It does look aesthetically nice, but I seem to get a lot of moisture in my built-in spice cabinet and they were hardening up. The ones you have with the bamboo lids work very well too.

Find someone local that knows the business. If there is no one, make a post in your community for advice. Find friends and family that will allow you to work on their spaces and take lots of pics for reference.

You do such a nice job! I have a question that has been weighing on mind , though, about repackaging spices. Several questions, actually, but thay all come back to this main question. I need to declutter, then organize everything in an ADHD-friendly way with clear containers so I can clearly see everything. That said, I also need to reduce waste and, as I mentioned, D-E-C-L-U-T-T-E-R, LOL! While pouring spices into matching, same-sized containers looks nice & tidy, what happens to all the excess product that is still left over in any one of their manufacturers' containers of various sizes? If I pour cinnamon, or any other often-used spice, from a larger-sized container into a smaller, neat, tidy & visually more appealing container, what do I do with all that leftover cinnamon in the original packaging? At that point, I have only added MORE clutter to the original clutter, because throwing out the excess is out of the question. Thoughts? Suggestions welcome. Thanks!

Hi Leala, I used to feel the same as you. What I’ve come to realize is that after filling the spice jars, the excess would all go in a bin reserved for overflow. Personally, under these circumstances, I don’t consider it clutter because they’re items I’m actually using and needing to replace. Everyone’s different, but I typically like working out of the overflow bin(s) first. For example, if I need flour for a recipe, I’ll first use up the flour in the overflow bin. Once that has run out, I start working out of the flour that’s in the container. Then, once the flour gets near to the bottom of the container, I know it’s time to buy more. I do this for spices and anything that has excess from not fitting in containers upon decanting. I hope that helps. 😊

I love the plastic shelving that holds the spices etc. Also the white plastic bins are great. But if you're taking the plastic bags out of their original box just to fit in the container how will the homeowner know what size the plastic bags are. The worst idea I can see is your taking the spices and pouring them into jars but you still have the spices in their own container because they don't fit in the labelled jar. That doesn't make sense. Organize what you can but leave items in their original containers if all of the contents don't fit.
