And even the original band was cheated by Alan Walden, aka, Cry For the Bad Man. The difference was that those albums created a genre of music, that and the Allman Brothers Band. The songs that Skynyrd writes these days would never have come from Ronnie. RONNIE was Lynyrd Skynyrd and ALLEN and GARY. Maybe blame this all on Gary. He shares the blame too.

I grew up listening to them. Saw them in mid 1970s. Ronnie could have only been replaced by his baby brother and no one else. Give credit to where it's due. Johnny carried the torch for his brother. Saw them once with Ronnie and twice with Johnny. If Gary was happy then everyone I'm sure was happy.

This is acceptable in my opinion as you have Thumper, Billy Boy, Gary and Medlocke..It's so tough being a TRUE Skynyrd fan when you see others calling themselves Skynyrd when they are clearly not but I suppose someone HAS to play drums and Guitar...I would go see this band and leave feeling satisfied with the ONLY issue being the band calling itself Lynyrd Skynyrd when there was only a handful worthy of that title...They DID sound great as I must give credit where it is due.

He's still alright in his own way... but Ronnie just sounded cooler.... plus Ronnie walked the walk too... he could get great songs out of his band members/write great lyrics. Skynyrd's original material post Ronnie is nowhere near as good.

No there is no low, low enough. Johnny thinks this rock and roll stuff is pretty easy because, well, he didn't have to work for it. Johnny never made it and his band was fizzling out fast. The reunion tour gave Johnny a permanent job. At first he did a good job. Then he showed everyone what a moron he is. It's been that way since Skynyrd 1991. That was when the complete desecration of the band began.

Johnny is an embarrassment. He's a silly mama's boy compared to Ronnie. That said, I was watching Gene Odom talking about Ronnie in I'll Never Forget You, the movie. Gene said Ronnie loved to talk, especially when he was drinking and then he would also become an angry violent drunk. Ronnie built Skynyrd, him and the other guys. Johnny walked into a GIG. He plays a part. Johnny is the illegal immigrant who walked into to assume an identity. It's the illegals who walk into America and pretend they are Americans. Once the "legacy" Americans die off these people will be right back where they started, if society is based on brains, behavior and character. How do you take people who couldn't build a country of their own, replace the population and then have these same people continue a country when they had nothing to do with building it? The new Americans are consumers of products and have assumed the identity of Americans. Some are a credit to the country, most could care less about what the country is now or was. That's why the rip down all the statues. The same is done when new members walk in to fill the shoes of legendary people who worked hard to build something. Generations down the road just have no pressure to build anything, or in Johnny's case, he has no pressure to right a good song. Nobody wants to hear songs he writes anyway. And then he can't even conduct himself like a person with some class.

Because I have all of the bootleg dvds, the commercial dvds of the original band. Because I LIVED through the time when there was no Lynyrd Skynyrd. They had a thing called shame and there was a ten year break when no one had the balls to try to pretend there was a skynyrd. Gary and Allen didn't even call their band Skynyrd. Allen didn't call his band Skynyrd. Gary didn't call his band Skynyrd. Then along came Johnny who had proved NOTHING other than he was a Van Zant. What IS Johnny? Name those Johnny Van Zant Band songs that you sing in the car or hear on the radio?? Johnny only has a career because his brother was TALENTED and SPECIAL. Kamala Harris is the vice president because she has lady parts and is half black. She is otherwise a woman who slept her way into politics. Sorry if ths is a bit too deep for you. Skynyrd is a DEAD band. Even stage two players are dead: Billy, Ed, Leon. Hughie T of the Outlaws is dead. Allen, Ronnie, Steve, Cassie, Bob Burns, the van zant parents, DEAD. Johnny acts like a moron, chews gum while singing, wears shirts with Ronnie on them, has a huge projected live images of the REAL Lynyrd Skynyrd and all of this would STOPPPPPPPP without Johnny's participation. He NEEDS the MONEY from TOURING AND he thinks he is SPECIAL or has TALENT. The guy is FAT and very STUPID on so many levels.
