Listen to Workin’ For MCA. They wrote it when they signed to the big record label MCA and also performed it live in front of the label record executives. I’d say it was a threath AND a joke on the band’s part, it’s definitely telling on how wild Ronnie and his band was!! 😅 BTW, I have finally subscribed, really like your reactions and analysis. 👍🏽

Missed them the first time around. I was there in 1987 for the reunion. What a show that was! Everyone stood up as the first song began and we never sat down again for the entire show. After 10 years of drought Skynyrd was BACK!

Your info on the recording of this song is correct. However, they recorded another live version shortly before this performance that ended up on their live album One more from the road. It was from that recording they lifted Ronnies vocals for a later studio version which his brother also sings on.

Good song now you have to do those other three songs I've been recommending Saturday night special, give me three steps and Free Bird from the same concert and railroad song and cheating woman are two good songs to check out to both from nothing fancy from your friend from Rhode Island keep up the great work

if you listen to the live album "One more from the road" this song has better sound. Often some songs played outdoors just dont have all the sound that a concert indoors has. This is one of those songs IMO. Still way great though.
