1:31 Awesome!! Do more of this! I love seeing all the mechanicals in action. Here's an idea, put a GoPro inside while playing a game, with lighting of course. Even better, have spilt screen with multiple shots of you playing outside and the inner workings. Yeah I know it's a pain to edit. But if you want views...... But seriously, I would like to see more action shots of the score motors, bonus units, score reels, etc. Anyway, great content as always Ron.

The shortening of springs makes a lot of sense as over time they do loosen off, or stretch slightly. You don't want to take a lot off of it, but a little returns the spring back to its original tension. It's not cheating, it is just restoring. You only need to take one loop off the spring usually, I wouldn't take much more of that off :) You are right about finding parts in Australia. It's difficult and expensive to get parts shipped over here, we have to hord / collect what we can get.

JOE CLASSIC, The index relay is what turns ON the score motor, and its the "only" relay that is the gatekeeper to turn on the score motor? the other relays that are connected to the index relay are keeping the index relay turned ON, its a "closed loop circuit" so if one or more relays arent turned off it keeps the index relay turned ON causing the score motor to keep spinning. NOT all score motors CAMS have impulse switchs, only the CAM that has many "bumps" on the cam wheel is considered the impulse cam? i'm guessing the cam bumps are called divots?

My Fun Fest swinging target makes the same noise, so it's 'normal'...whatever normal is. My machine spent most of its early life in a Teamsters' Union hall and the years of cigarette smoke really took a toll on the wiring and connectors. The schematic is nearly useless because all the wiring is the same dingy color. It's nice to see similar machines in such clean condition.

The score motors need to be mounted upside down. Too bad the pinball makers didn't mount them vertical in the cabinet, it would work in both hemispheres in that fashion.

I have all the paper schematics of my Bally Powerplay but I'd be interested where you get your schematics from ? I note your schematic shows switch contacts like very early electrical schematics, that show contacts like capacitors... Confusing (for me at least).

How is it that Ronnie is the best pinball tech, and still manages to be as funny as?? You could get a job as a comedian if the shore ever closes down! I have a woodrail that resets fine, but once every 10 games or so, the score motor will keep on running. …don’t suppose you know what that might be??
