Favorite Feature: True sound, I don't feel like frequencies are being boosted at a noticeable DB - compared to popular KRK speakers these things are worth the investment!

These are very good monitors for the price. I got the BX5D2's. I just had a set of the Yamaha HS80 w/ 2 Subwoofers R & L on the floor. I just recently moved up to KRK ROKIT 10-3's. I loved the Yamaha HS 80 series. These Rokit KRK 10-3 are the shiznit. But if you are looking at price these M Audios are really good.

Thanks for the review man...I was in GC today and one of the reps in there told me that these were better than anything in the store...I was shocked...I also have the Mackie Mr5mk2 right now. What were the differences you heard b/w the Mackie and M-Audio?

Now, if it sounds good with the KRK’s when you have Artist and they’re trying to get a vibe, it may help them. that’s why I use two different versions and switch between them for mixing. An artist wants the ultimate experience when listening to a track for the first time. Especially with hip-hop and jazz. When you go to Mixdown use audio file, headphones, or different speakers. I’ve done this with recording with studio beats and then turn around and use my master and dynamic MW 65s for mixing.

Ive got the bx8a. Upgraded versions. Very very good. Tighter than krk. U wont need a sub woofer either. Their just nice. Yamaha are bettrr to my ear though. More clarity. Im about to grab some h8s. And also i wish i had sone adam a7s but cant afford them lol

Just traded a guitar for a pair of these from a local shop. I absolutely love 'em, couldn't agree more with the review. You don't need a separate sub when mixing with these, they have that deep of a bass response on their own and whether it's the bi-amplification of the highs and lows that does it or what I don't know, but nothing is muddy even with that nice bass, everything stays clear and distortion free, but .... loud! Great monitors.

Are you realy using these monsters in this tiny 2x2 room? :D I think you can't hear damn shit. Zero delay for stereo L/R or headroom for side just mid with echo. Your bass freq is decompresed over there and your desk is on fire xD

I also have a pretty small room and i own a pair of Yamaha HS50M's I got some Auralex pads under them and some acoustic treatment but i still have problems with the low end.. now i'm thinking of getting some new monitors can anyone give me some advice?

Would you recommend these for mixing orchestral music? I've never owned a pair of studio monitors before and have been using some standard logitech computer speakers for the last year and a half. I'm guessing any speakers advertised as 'Studio monitors' are going to be much better? I was considering getting the JBL LSR 305, but saw that the M-Audios were much cheaper and your review makes them sound really good. Would really appreciate hearing what you think. Thanks

yea i got the bx8 carbons and bx5 ...the 8's are excellent, and yes studio monitors are made to have a flat response so you actually know what you are mixing,standard computer speakers are not even in the same class. i do use orchestral sounds on some of my tracks and i can say it'll do it without a problem ..for sure recomend them

+Ph3nomen0N Gameplay I haven't heard them just yet, but would assume they sound similar. Right now I still use these as a second pair of monitors in my current setup. My room is 12x14' and they sound fine.

10-3's krk's top end monitors? Er...no. The vxts are above the rokit series (which includes the 10-3) the above the vxt series are the expose which are 10 times the price lol

For under $900 right now the KRK 10 - 3 are rated highest -most reviews and orders then any other monitor..thats what I refer to. Sure, you could argue that Nuemann has some of the best monitors for 10k each lol

Ok, well if you had said "these are krks top monitors UNDER $900" then I wouldn't have said anything. You didn't. Neumann (thats how you spell it btw) sell expensive monitors yes, 'best' is a subjective term and really has no place in this subject. My favourite monitors are Focal and I really want the SM9's. If I had more cash, a set of barefoot micromains would be nice too. The honest truth is, the rokit range is poor. If you like krk, look at the vxt's or, if you can afford it, the expose's.

I find the 5's have far better mid clarity, whereas the 8's seem to muddy the mid-range a little. After having the 8's a few weeks I'm really wishing I'd kept the 5's and threw in an active sub. So... Anyone wanna buy my 8's? LOL ... hell, I'll even swap em for 5's and a coupla beers XD

I also own the 8's and feel the lower mid-range can sometimes be a little muddy. It seems like they have a slightly raised low-mid shelf from 300-500ish. Always thought it was my room, but I've heard this from a few other people a well.
