Is there a difference between older mk s150 mk ii and more recent ones? I was looking at the woofers, the older reviews say polypropylene and the website right now says fiberglass. Also says the tweeters are horn loaded for better dispersion. The logo also changed im the front. Am I crazy? Wouldn't that make it mkiii?

As googoo gjoob commented your center channel speaker issue was a result of the height of your equipment stand (losing direct ir transmission) and blocking the bottom of your screen. Get a taller equipment and tv screen stand!). Hi I have owned mp150mk2,150t and mk iw85(atmos) two x8 in my living room for years now, they are wall mountable and can project sound upwards or downwards maybe you could move all your A/V gear to another location within the room just leaving the TV so centre channel could be placed bellow. I like the m&k cause they can be wall mounted which means you have a much larger sound stage just like the movies.

Hi Clark! Yeah, it's a tough space. I have through about moving things around, but it would be a huge feat, especially since I'll be adding another amp soon.

I got a great deal on some s150’s second hand, but I’m worried they’re going to be too much for my small living room setup. Do these need to be played loud all the time, or can you watch a movie at quieter levels? They will eventually be powered by an emotiva amp.

You nailed it in the review. I've had them for five years. These are serious speakers. In a projector room it's perfect (esp with an AT screen) and rocks Blu-ray dts and other uncompressed mixes with precision. Streaming compressed Netflix or whatever sounds like dogcrap though. @kellytaylor39155 жыл бұрын
I would like to add that when listening to TV be it cable or satellite TV it is compressed big time. This makes the upper end sound harsh. You need as many zeros and ones to make good sound. If when you play movies or DSD audio and your blown away you issue is from your source not the speakers. Garbage in Garbage out. In your room I would raise the tv stand height and put all three front channels at the same height. This will change things big time. Sub Sat system are a different bag of playback. Once you have figured your Sub in in phase with Sat’s your good. A Sub with variable phase is a must to get the best. The 0 or 180 deg is not enough in most system. M&K makes excellent speakers. They should not be blamed for being truthful. You did not cover in the discussion about The M&K Sub. Which I believe they do very good. Keep up the good work.

Scott & Ken from The Crystal Method were always there hanging out. Very cool guys. That second track on my list from them has this really warm bass hit starting 30 seconds in, and it’s glorious! I am making a video going over the list of songs and what to look for. Glad I could take you back man! I was in Scottsdale AZ at the time, huge club scene and they started embracing the music around 99ish then it became mainstream. I hit it hard, don't party anymore, seems like a lifetime ago but I remember like it was yesterday. Just checked my time-capsule CD case and i found an old Van Dyk The Politics of Dancing! Love Okenfold too, but Tiesto is my favorite. He's still hitting it hard to this day. His youtube or soundcloud channel has full sets from Tomorrowland and other crazy events. Legit if you want a hard hitting 60-90 minute set. The scene is SO much bigger than it was back in the day.
