Not eveybody knows that they won the Eurostory best lirics awards 2021 with Zitti e Buoni. So they won everything this year to ESC😎.

So I discovered them about a month ago and, I’m obsessed and in love! …. As a much older listener it helps me to listen to someone like you react, and assure me that the feelings I have are rational. This truly is an amazing band, with roots in classic Rock, yet completely modernized and fresh and edgy. Some of their stuff is at masterpiece levels. And of course they are fantastic live. I’m at the point of comparing them to iconic bands of the past. The only thing holding that back, is the brief exposure that I and most of the world has had. Yet, they actually are well established in Italy, and clearly have been performing at amazing levels for 2 or 3 years. Likely only held back by the fact they were in a smaller non English speaking fan base market? They deserve to break into the worldwide English speaking market. Let us see if it continues to happen, and if the public will embrace them in North America.

I do hope they keep also singing in Italian because those lyrics are the best...

I do hope they'll never stop writing in Italian, it's where their poetic talent is at its peak! It sounds obvious, but your mothertongue is always the channel to deeper emotions.

yes. the Italian has no rivals musicality, cleanliness and expression
@annarae23962 жыл бұрын
I agree, my take is when they want to dance and have fun they write in English and when they have more deep emotions to express of course Italian is perfect.

When Damiano writes songs in Italian obviously the lyrics are very deep. You should react to Coraline (with subtitles). For me one of the most beautiful rock ballad of the last 20 years.
@anaas13 жыл бұрын
This is why I love them so much...the richness of their lyrics, the musical arrangement..and they're only in their 20's. They're so complete as artists!
@antvilla723 жыл бұрын
The most touching of them is CORALINE don’t look for a live, better for a studio version with English subtitles
@CailinRuaAnChead2 жыл бұрын
There are a couple of live recordings though with the odd voice crack here and there so while the audio quality isn't quite as good as the studio version, the pure emotion is there and it's utterly heartbreaking

Forgot to recommend songs. Their last album “Teatro d’Ira” is amazing. Try “For YourLove”, “I WannaBeYour Slave”, “Vent ‘Anni” and the masterpiece “Coraline”(unless you understand Italian, I recommend listening to the song once through WITHOUT reading the translated lyrics, to just feel the song. Then again with the translation) It is an extremely emotional and complex song, yet so beautiful.

You should really check out the official video for this song as well, it's really well done but doesn't have subtitles so it's useful to look at a lyrics translation before or after as you have done. Since you liked the lyrics for this song, you should also check out "Vent'anni", "Moriro da Re" and "La Paura del Buio" - this last has a live performance video with English subtitles from the same live studio set that you just watched for Torna a Casa.

Thank you so much for your reaction! We definitely are all under this band spell, it's a joy to see them on stage and also off stage during interviews, they spread positive energy, it's refreshing to see them smiling full of love for eachother, they really are 4 very good friends having fun together. Out of curiosity, what was the US radio you heard them on? That's huge, I thought in US radios weren't interested in Italian rock, the only Italian music known in US being cheesy melodic pop songs very old style and pop opera! :D BTW my suggestion for your further listen is Vent'anni (=20 years old) and La Paura del Buio (=Fear of the Dark). kzbin.info/www/bejne/sHmWgp2dpM1jaKs kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3iQk3WPnruKja8

La Paura del buio from that performance is my fav thing from them honestly (maybe apart from Caroline but im still debating it) + you should still watch the Eurovision Final performance of Zitti E Buoni that made them huge. It was spectacular

Madlena, and it surprised me too ... even if it is a hypothesis, it is the union of the names MARia MaddaLENA = MARLENA (Mary Magdalene from the Bible). And you can see it partly from the text and partly from the details of the video. Maybe it's a publicity stunt but the music, lyrics, Damiano's voice and the video are spectacular. I cry every time I listen to it....
